Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Education Inc..

Interview

Extensive and annoying! They ask a lot of prying questions and expect you to explain situations for every question. The interview process is long, and they seem to drag you along with no hint as to their thoughts on your qualifications. Starts with a cold call "interview" where they basically ask if you are still on-board after they tell you the embarrassing salary. Then you fill out a long career history form and, if they like you, they will call you for a long (1-2 hour) interview where they basically ask you the same questions you already answered. THEN...they will call you at the last minute to ask if you would come into the site (that you may not know anything about) and teach a lesson to the class. They give you really no help with the lesson plan, but they do require you to phone conference with them to tell about the lesson you planned. That is usually done the day before, so hopefully they like it and don't make you change it at the last minute! Onto the demo day, where they force feed you nonsense about the company and the job instead of letting you prepare for your lesson. Next, you teach the lesson to a group of students you've never met and know nothing about. After the lesson, they'll take you into a room to tell you what they liked and disliked, and tell you that the last step is setting up YOUR OWN references. Yup, you have to call your reference and request a time to talk, and then let the hiring manager know when they can call. Finally, they may or may not hire you, and you may or may not receive training before starting.

    Application

The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Education Inc. in January 2012.

    Interview

Interview process was so drawn out I decided to look elsewhere. Two phone screens with individuals who did not have the experience to ask useful questions or answer many questions. Must fill out extensive background application which asks for details of your high school experience. Phone screen was extremely long and again contained in depth questions about my high school experience despite the fact I graduated high school in the 90s. After numerous contacts through email and phone and an almost two hour phone screen i was told I would need to have an 1. in person interview 2. observation of school. 3. be observed teaching a lesson to students at the residential school. Extremely long process with people who do not really seem to understand position for a position that is extremely low in pay to similar teaching positions.
