Emerson Graduate Engineer Trainee Interview Questions

I applied through employee referral and and the whole process took two days. There were two rounds - Technical and HR. The technical was for 1 to 1.5 hours and the HR round was 30 min.

The interview was online and it was very easy they didn’t ask many questions only important ones and no behavioral questions then an we had an assessment day .It was overall very easy process.

Candidates were shortlisted on some merit basis and the shortlisted candidates have to gone through technical and hr round . It was held online through microsoft teams and interviewers divided for group of candidates

Interview was mostly Technical all the question are from core instrumentation Like there dcs Delta v and plc also the sensor and transducer like flow and temperature are also asked in interview

The interview was very well rounded. Other then technical proficiency, emphasis was also given on candidates general knowledge and awareness, and also their hobbies interests and extracurricular activities. The process is very extensive and consists of many rounds, from aptitude to technical interview and general round. They also conducted psychometric test and results were shared.

Aptitude test had more technical than general aptitude questions. They selected almost 30% students from aptitude test. GD topics were social. They conducted both technical and HR interviews by one panel.

first aptitude, second group discussion ,third technical interview and fourth hr. aptitude was easy.It has 60 min on paper test. 45 questions are technical. 15 with gk, quantitute, reasoning, verbal.

Interview was short but sweet. It took approximately 15-20 minutes for technical Interview and 10 minutes of HR interview. So, In technical interview which was taken by one the directors of the company. It included all tye kinds of question covering subjects of process control and project management. He started with my introduction.My backgroud. Then he started to ask some questions on Transducer subject like for which kind of measurement which trasducer is used. He asked about temp, flow, level sensors. But one should prepare all sensors with their ranges. Then he moved to the process control. He asked some questions on control srategies. He asked one example about boiler and control strategy used in it. Then He asked about various Controllers such as proportional integral and derivative controller and composite controllers such as PI PID controller. Then he asked some questions on the project management.He asked the list of subjects which we studied in the last 2 semsters. He asked question on what is project what are the steps involved in projects some definitions examples of project its objectives and results. He was so kind and Experienced. He calmly explained some things which i didnt know at that time. At the end he whished me all the best and ended with smile and thanking me.
