Emerson Sales Engineer Interview Questions

Great steak dinner casual interview to start and hotel provided. Next morning interview over breakfast, followed by back to back 30 min interviews until an exit lunch interview. Very friendly culture and non-technical questions.

The recruiters were very casual and the interview questions were not technical. This was a first-round interview so I'm sure the next round will be more technical. Make sure to have lots of questions ready to ask them. They were looking for my view on the company and the role.

I applied online and was invited for an interview with HR. The same day after the interview, I took an exam which is personality, some technical and excel exam. It’s been a week and I’m waiting for the update.

The initial screening took about a month Upon shortlisting, there were three interviews, with HR then with a panel of three managers, and finally with the hiring manager. The process was very straight forward and HR was very straightforward and friendly.

Phone screen and two in-person interviews onsite. Initial onsite was a group of five members including the hiring manager. The second onsite interview was one on one with the hiring manager.

2-day process, typical Emerson process I believe. I had to travel 6 hours to get to the facility, so the first night I was put into a nice hotel & taken out to dinner by sales engineers. Very nice steak joint. Second day was taken out to breakfast, toured testing & manufacturing facilities, then had 4 interviews with directors/managers of separate industries of Fisher control valves (Emerson). Then had lunch with a sales engineer, came back had interview with HR for benefits overview, then final wrap-up interview with engineering hiring manager.

It was a 30 minutes discussion with technical questions and were I see me in the next 5 years. Also language skills were asked. German and English. Also they asked if I am open for traveling.

They brought me in for an all day interview process. They gave me a hotel in Marshaltown and took me to dinner the night before. The interview day consisted of breakfast with a sales engineer, 3 back to back interviews with managers, lunch with a few other sales engineers, and then a plant tour.

It went really well, people were friendly and the discussions were based on my previous experience. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend you to ask questions about the things that you are not confident.

Basic HR questions. no technical questions. no structure either. they will try in negotiate your salary down so don't let them. they don't care that they hire talentless people so that they can get their workforce for cheap.
