    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Evercore Partners (New York, NY).

    Interview

Easily the hardest first round IB interview I had. Very technical, although my interviewers were generally friendly with me and helpful. Had two phone interviews. One was with an analyst, the second was with a Associate. They didn't inform me of scheduling either interview until the day before.

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Evercore Partners.

    Interview

really dove into the technical questions and tried to push you to see how strong you were technically, must be prepared for this interview, I was not surprised though because its such an elite firm with lean operations that you must be able to hold your own and demonstrate the understanding.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at Evercore Partners (New York, NY) in September 2011.

    Interview

The Evercore interview was quite technical. They are looking to only advance those candidates who have a solid understanding of finance and valuations. Know how to do a DCF and calculate the WACC at the very minimum. You may also need to understand beta calculations for their business, how an overstatement of depreciation (or gain/loss from the sale of an asset) will flow through the 3 financial statements, etc. Bottom line: preparation will take a great deal of time and energy, so don't approach it any other way. Even rejection from the interview process is a positive experience if you spent the time to prepare, because all other interviews will be disappointingly easy.

    Interview

Definitely more technical than others in the first round interview. Friendly overall though, and my interviewer was willing to provide some assistance. Was notified a week or so later about setting up another phone interview. Overall, should have done more preparation

    Interview

OCR interview with one analyst and one VP. The interview began with the typical questions (tell me about yourself, why IBD, why boutique/Evercore over BB) and then got technical very, very fast. I was asked about the deals that I had done over the summer (I was in IBD) and then was asked to do mid-year discounting on a DCF and a quantitative question about synergies. They got back to me telling me I wouldn't move forward by the next day.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Evercore Partners (New York, NY) in March 2013.

    Interview

The interview process generally is conducted on college campuses, though if you don't come from a target school, you may be invited for a first round at the firm after a phone screen. The first round usually involves a few questions about your background and then analytical/technical questions about your previous experience and your knowledge of finance/accounting.

Overall, the interviews can get pretty technical. If you move on from the first round, you will be given a "super day" which involves 4-6 back-to-back interviews with several Analysts/Associates/VPs and sometimes MDs, who will ask you a range of questions from fit-based to technical.

    Interview Questions

    • Walk me through a DCF, Walk me through how an increase in depreciation of $10 affects the 3 financial statements. Tell me about XX deal/experience on your resume.   Answer Question

Similar to all investment banking analyst interviews, half behavioral and half technical questions to test knowledge of finance. Two rounds of interviews with superday being about half a day and meeting with several different poeople from the company. Overall standard process that rquires preparation
