    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fedex Express (Denver, CO) in September 2016.

    Interview

I submitted an online application, which took a while, because they wanted 10 years of job experience, & places that I have lived (probably for the DOT background check.) About a week later I was called to set up an interview. They suggested getting to the interview about 15 min early, because if you are even one minute late they will not consider you for the position. In the interview it was two people, they asked 4 started questions any you say no to ends the interview. The 4 questions are like "do you have reliable transportation?" "Can you work the hours they need you for?" "Can you work in all different weather?"...Then there are 8 personality questions, which they want you to give specific work related examples of, & thy say there is no right or wrong. They mention later that they score these answers, & will get back to you in a few days, & then ask if you have any questions

    • Are you dependable?   Answer Question

    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Fedex Express (Miami, FL).

    Interview

Interview is conducted by the hiring manager and HR representative. This is a panel interview so sometimes it may be more than one manager plus the HR representative. After you complete this you should always ask what do they expect from the successful candidate for hire. Know the People philosophy of FedEx is helpful, you may say the following-Example: What attracted me to FedEx is their People Philosophy-"People, Service, Profit", They take care of their people, which provide the Service that in turn provides Profit.

    Interview Questions

    • One question is: Tell us a time where you had to handle a conflict. How did you resolve this? What is important to remember is that in answering these questions you must 1st-State the issue. 2nd-the action you took, 3rd final outcome/resolution.   1 Answer

    No negotiation phase.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Fedex Express (Lake Oswego, OR) in July 2016.

    Interview

2 Person Interview as the regular Interviewer was training someone new. Behavioral Interview style asking a general question with multiple part sub-questions (4 or 5) all in row after the main question. I found it difficult to keep all the (often multiple-part) sub-questions in mind. Interviewers took turns asking questions & wrote down my responses as I replied. Had to ask a few times for some of the sub-questions to be repeated. Truncated version of a sample question below.

    Interview Questions

    • Describe a stressful situation you have had at a previous job, how you handled the situation, do you think you handled the situation well, what was the ultimate outcome/result, plus one other question.   Answer Question

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fedex Express.

    Interview

I was interviewed and hired in the same night. The interview is pretty basic. There's a total of five questions. Anyone can be hired as the manager does not care the caliber of people who are hired as long as he has a body out there on the dock he doesn't care.
