Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Financial Services of America (Warren, MI) in March 2015.

Interview

You meet right away with the President/CEO Richard James for a one-on-one interview that lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. He explains the position in detail and asks you questions about your professional career and aspirations. He is very straight-forward about things so you walk away feeling informed. Then if you pass the personality test and the first interview, you have a second interview with the Director of Human Resources, Carl Popko. Here is where you will perform a sales role-play that you received from the first interview. If you make the cut, you will be brought back in for all the pre-employment details and given a start date for the one week of intense training you get at their headquarters.

Interview Questions

  • He asked about my past and present salary and if I would be comfortable fitting into their structure. Also asked to sell a pen   1 Answer

    Interview

Its not difficult to obtain an interview with this organization. When you arrive for your initial interview, you'll take a quick personality test which you'll "pass" if you have any semblance of a personality. You'll sit in front of the founder while he quickly looks over your answers and when finished, he'll begin speaking. Keep in mind, he is a "Master Mind" as described by Napolean Hill. All you'll do is sit and listen and you'll then be "sold". You'll most certainly want to work for this company as he is a master of sales. The HR director will give you some materials to study and rehearse before your next meeting. You'll also be given a list of 10 questions to answer in written form that you bring back with you to the following interview. Upon your next meeting you'll give your "presentation" to the HR director who assumes the role of the "client". If you've done any kind of prep work, you're most likely to succeed and be invited to join the company within a few days.

    Interview Questions

    • I would suggest asking your own questions during the "Q&A" phase of your interview. The questions you are asked aren't particularly difficult and you won't glean much information about the position from them. Instead, I recommend you focus on how the compensation programs work in detail. Specifically, you should inquire about the "draw" option and the stipulations that come with it. Of course if you are bringing your own clients with you, don't worry about asking questions.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

There was no negotiation phase, you're in or you're out.

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Financial Services of America (Warren, MI) in November 2011.

    Interview

First visit is the taking of personality test and then a 15 minute interview with Founder. Second visit is a 15 minute interview with HR Director and you are giving the Benefits Guide book and audio CDs with the client lead presentation template for you to practice and prepare for third visit. Third visit is with HR Director where you do the presentation to the HR Director as directed on the CD while he plays a difficult lead. If the Founder and HR Director are satisfied you are offered a position as an Account Executive.

    Interview Questions

    • This is difficult to describe since the interview process was all role playing as if you were with a potential client.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

No negotiations since this is a commission position with a salary draw.

    Application

    Interview

Met with the owner of the company first and was given information on the company along with presentation materials. You are required to memorize a presentation on Annuities and pitch the presentation at a second interview, if asked. This is a sales position and you should realize that memorizing the presentation will not be good enough. The person you are presenting to may act as someone who you are trying to sell a product and who is very rigid in their demeanor. It is your job to expect this and expect the interviewer to put you off at the beginning of your presentation. You are selling...it's like fishing. you cannot always catch a fish. Sometimes it is cold and sometimes it is warm. But if you are prepared with the right tools you can catch the fish and get this position if you really want it and need it. Just be prepared for a cold acceptance at the start of your presentation that gets warmer on the water as the sun comes up. You'll do fine, just prepare for this in your head and run through the presentation several times. All the Best!

    Interview Questions

    • Basic questions on the interview, your presentation is the name of the game in the second interview. Your first interview is all about filling out a personality test on paper and meeting upper management.   1 Answer
