    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Flow Traders (New York, NY) in December 2013.

    Interview

Found an ad on campus. Applied on line. Got an email from recruiter asking me to finish an online video interview. 5 questions, each allowing about 15 sec to think about before answering. All behavioral questions: how do you deal with stress, etc.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Flow Traders (Providence, RI) in September 2013.

    Interview

I applied through my university's career site, and was invited for a first round interview on campus less than a week later. They are looking for candidates with quant backgrounds. There was no "tell me about yourself" or "walk me through your resume" etc. The first thing when I sat down in the interview was take a written math exam of 75 questions adding, multiplying a and dividing random numbers and only had 10 minutes. Not impossible questions, but definitely takes some thought, I got about half way through. I wasn't invited for a final round.

I applied through college or university. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Flow Traders (New York, NY).

    Interview

Applied through OCR. First round on campus, 1st 10 minutes was a mental math test.

Second Round was in a hotel in NYC, IQ Test and another Math Test, then a Case Study with two Traders.

Thought that this was meant to be the final and they said they would notify with offers within a week, but was then e-mailed to speak with another trader. Then e-mailed to speak with to more traders after this. Unclear process overall

    Interview

it was on campus interview, first round, on Campus, lot of mental math that requires the logic. Probability question. They also asked about the company itself. You need to have some of background check about the company before you enter. I am not sure if they really care about fit-based questions.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Flow Traders (New York, NY) in October 2014.

    Interview

First part is a Math Test (all in head/no pencil paper) on a computer, followed by some standard and unique Behavioral Interview Qs with specific questions on Markets; recruiter called me for a video based Logic/IQ Test on the computer; company flew me in & put me in a really nice hotel for the final interview that consisted of interviews with other employees, an interview with Sr. Traders, and Social/Drinks/Apps Hour in Lounge with a bunch of employees and some other candidates. Really nice office with some cool perks, everyone was very friendly and accommodating.

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Flow Traders in November 2015.

    Interview

Interview process was very efficient, it took just over a week for the first three rounds. The onsite interview was great, recruiters were friendly and interview process was smooth. I feel the recruiters really knew who they were looking for and you need to be passionate about trading. When I arrived at the hotel for the interview, I received a bag of snacks from Flow at the reception. It was sweet.

    Interview

They are very thorough in their interview process. The important things that it seemed to me like they were looking for were self-motivated, naturally smart, and quantitative-minded individuals. Having a working understanding of financial markets and what was currently happening was definitely a bonus.

Also, they definitely take into account the ability to learn from mistakes. If you're wrong they will let you know and prod you in the right direction so heed their advice. They grill you so that they can see how you handle pressure environments since that is a major aspect of the position.

    Interview

The interview process was very informative. Mostly just asked behavioral questions, but make sure you understand how the company makes money.

After the interview you take a mental math test at an agreed time. The questions aren't too hard but you have 10 minutes for 75 questions, so make sure to practice decimal division and multiplication before hand

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Flow Traders (New York, NY).

    Interview

Heard about the opportunity through a student investment club. A week or two after applying I received an email to set up a video interview.

The video interview was timed and featured basic fit/behavioral questions. The candidate has 30 seconds to think of an answer and two minutes to record a response to. The questions were easy but the format was a bit unnerving.

Within a few days received a request to complete a Skype-proctored arithmetic test. Was given a link to practice. Put in some practice for a few days, worried that it'd be really difficult.

The actual test was 10 minutes to answer 75 math problems. It started off super easy ie 72/8. This lulled me into a slower given the lack of difficulty. Section 2 was much harder, but not impossible though I hadn't given myself enough time. Section 3 had very difficult problems but multiple choice. I totally ran out of time to complete all of the questions, and received an email the next day saying I didn't meet the global standard.

After the math test there was a logic (IQ) test, but I didn't get that far. The HR person was nice and professional throughout the process.
