    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fractal Analytics (Newark, NJ) in May 2014.

    Interview

Three rounds of interview. Mostly around program and project management and work experience. There were two case based questions. Asked more about how I managed a team and the kind of work I did in previous analytical engagements. Overall an average experience.

    Interview Questions

    • How I will grow sales in a particular scenario? How did I manage a team? How many people were there in the team? Talk more about our projects.   Answer Question

    Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Fractal Analytics.

    Interview

Love the company and it seems to be on the right trajectory. Found out that it's mandatory for all sales reps to go to the New Jersey everyday. Who goes to the office to sell?

    Interview Questions

    • Asked all the right questions, then the last question: Can you come to New Jersey everyday for work? That means come in then go out to sales calls. Not efficient use of time and energy.   1 Answer

    Software Developer Interview

    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I interviewed at Fractal Analytics (New York, NY) in June 2018.

    Interview

Contacted by VP then technical round was scheduled. VP was very courteous and professional and was excited to hear my background and explain why fractal was right for me. Everything looked great until the technical round. The person taking the technical interview was acting like a 'boss' asking questions in a manner that he was interrogating rather than interviewing me. Bet if I interview him he would not be able to answer half my questions. I wasnt desperate for the job and midway during that I interview I decided not to join this company. Complete waste of time.

I applied online on Fractal's website. After couple of weeks got an email from HR for phone screen. Had the first screen call. With in couple hrs, got an email for next follow up interview with hiring Mgr. After this, with in a couple of hours for the next interview and subsequent one. Data Scientist Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Fractal Analytics (New York, NY) in March 2018.

    Interview

Step 1: Phone screen with HR - standard questions - biggest difficulty was understanding what the recruiter said, very strong accent
    Step 2: Coding test - 3 problems
Step 3: Technical Interview - questions about algorithms and stats
    Step 4: Interview with consultant
Step 5: On-site interview - 4 back-to-back 40 minutes interview, including case studies and very theoretical statistics questions - very tiring and intense - totally disorganized

The process is very time consuming and the communication with the recruiter is just ridiculous. You send e-mails and they either won't ever respond you or will take a month to respond. At the end of the last stage, I was told I would receive an answer over the next days and the answer never came, even after trying to get in contact with the recruiter (and, obviously, being ignored). I honestly have never experienced such an unprofessional way to deal with people.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Fractal Analytics.

    Interview

OMG!!! I was insulted (implied that I was stupid ) and disrespected (my answers were constantly dismissed as wrong, although they were correct). The company is 85% Indian males. I am a white American female with a PhD. I do not think I should comment more. That was a horrible discriminatory experience!!! I declined to participate in the in the interview process further.

    Interview Questions

    • The interviewer asked about random forest and how it works. When I said that each decision tree in the forest considers a random subset of features, he disrespectfully interrupted me and told me that I am wrong. Then he scolded me for giving the "wrong" answer.   1 Answer

U S Head of Human Resources Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Fractal Analytics (New York, NY) in April 2016.

    Interview

Contacted by recruiter indicating that I had been selected amongst a group of candidates that were short-listed. Recruiter screen via phone for approx 1/2 hour. Recruiter mainly inquired into my background and experience with talent management, human capital, immigration, and international experience. Contacted again indicating that there was interest and arranged another call with their Chief HR Officer. During the conversation with the CHRO, it was clear that there was a communication challenge (both parties) as she had a difficulty time understand American accent and articulation. It was also quite difficult understanding the interviewer as she lives and works from India. The interviewer took advantage of our time together to gain intel on how the US operates and what commonly used talent management technology we use. I think they will need to only source non-American candidates as 98% of their work population seems to be from India based on research. Received an email indicating that they decided to pursue other candidates. It is clear from the Glassdoor reviews that this company is plagued with issues. Good thing that they didn't want to pursue further as that would have also been my decision to not proceed to any next steps. Huge cultural disconnect, unfortunately.

    Interview Questions

    • Walk me through your background and experience?
What is my philosophy on performance management?
Have I worked across the globe and supported business units at an international level?
      Compensation history.   Answer Question
