Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Freedom Mortgage in March 2014.

Interview

I was told they have a great platform and that new leadership was going to push their entry into the retail arena successfully. They talked about how even though they failed before in setting up a retail presence in Texas, they were going to be successful this time. Boy was I a dupe to believe them.

Interview Questions

  • I didn't really have one from them. In our business you can either produce or you can't... it is really me interviewing them.   Answer Question

Negotiation

I had to prove my production and previous income, but after that it was fairly uncomplicated.

    Interview

Very brief and simple questions about your preferences and flexibility. No technical questions at all. Show up in the day of your interview, they escort you to an open office. It's really busy so it'll be any office that's available. Interview begins, you answer about 10 questions and you're done. It all takes 30 minutes.

    Interview

pretty easy going. ask you situational questions. pretty standard interview process. The interviewer was nice and wasn't trying to intimidate you. They try to get the most honest answers to gauge your personality since most people are inclined to give answers they think interviewers want to hear

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Freedom Mortgage (San Diego, CA) in February 2014.

    Interview

Very brief. Asked typical previous employment questions. They DONT tell you how much pressure to achieve metrics they give you. Or how much you will be micro-managed every HOUR and each DAY! they 'flash' the compensation structure at you. $500 per loan only-not VOLUME. And you give up the first 2 loans to the company. Fund 5 , get paid on only 3 loans. Plus, must sign contract promising to pay back company for Licensing fees if you leave in first 2 years! beware. 25+ states they require.

    Interview Questions

    • Simple questions about previous work experience and functions. nothing real hard. they just want 'warm bodies' to answer the incoming calls.   Answer Question

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Freedom Mortgage.

    Interview

The interview process was very laid back and friendly. Completely different than other interview processes where it was very structured. The person wanted to know more about myself and my characteristics which I thought was refreshing.

    Interview Questions

    • The interviewer/recruiter wanted to know about me personally, rather than asking a redundant question asked by every single interviewer.   Answer Question

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Freedom Mortgage (Columbia, MD) in July 2017.

    Interview

The interview process was actually very easy (nothing to worry about). I had 2 phone interviews and one in person interview with the hiring manager. Both in phone interviews took about 15 minutes when the recruiters asked questions about your resume, experiences, and why you want to join Freedom. The hiring manager also spends time looking at your resume and asking similar questions about your experiences. You also get the opportunity to shadow loan officers for about 15 minutes.
