I interviewed at GNC
Unprofessional interview took place in-store. It was unconventional with interruptions whenever customers arrived. The experience was far from standard. Interview was very different and not very professional, I had to interview in the middle of the store and if a customer walked in we would stop

Fairly decent process in asking what your qualifications are. Gives detail about working in this company and the things you would have to do in this company as well as the location and pay that comes along with this internship.
- Tell me about yourself and your qualifications?

Several rounds of remote interviews with recruitment, manager and team members. The process also required filling out a proprietary outdated application form that took many tries before it was accepted

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at GNC in Feb 2023
I initially interviewed with a recruiter, and then secondly, met with the hiring manager. I had a very nice conversation with the hiring manager, or so I thought. When I followed up a week later with the recruiter to check on my status, I did not receive a reply. Two weeks later, and still no reply from the recruiter, so I was GHOSTED, which does not sit well with me at all. Candidates take the time to prepare and even over prepare for an interview. The least a company can do is show you the common courtesy of a reply, even if it's a rejection. As a result, my experience with this company is soured, and therefore, I determined it's not worth my time, regardless.
- One very open ended initial question I received: tell me about yourself.

I had an initial screening with the Regional Manager at GNC, which lasted for around 30 minutes. He provided a clear overview of the duties and competencies required for the role, and I appreciated the transparency and structure of the interview process. However, the Regional Manager spoke more than he listened, and I felt that his self-centered personality might hinder his ability to get to know a candidate. He focused on his own accomplishments rather than engaging with my experience and qualifications. I followed up with a thank-you email within 24 hours of the call and sent a follow-up email a week later to check on my application status, but I did not receive a response to either email. Overall, while I appreciated the structured approach to the interview process, the lack of communication after the interview left me uncertain about the status of my application.
- How do you manage your team from afar? How do you influence your team?

Initial phone call describing the job duties and asking how I can fulfill those duties. Then an in person interview where I was asked about my product knowledge and sales experience. I was offered the job that day.
- A customer wants a product at GNC because they are loyal to the company, but the same product is on sale at a nearby store. Should you offer to sell it at the same price even though it is against company policy?

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at GNC (Tampa, FL) in Jan 2023
Remote interview for 15 minutes. What can you accomplish in this time frame? Pretty stupid. He tells me they want someone to crunch the numbers. It's clear they have no idea what the hell they are doing when their content of branded vs. non branded is upside down. I can only imagine what else I would find after a site assessment after a through audit. This recruiter asked me one question which was unreasonable and not SEO specific. Then the recruiter says he'll have the other guy ask the rest of the questions. This is their vetting process? Laughable... This recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn. I previously interviewed for the company but withdrew as other companies were far more engaging, organized, and transparent about their process. They actually came "prepared" and knew what questions to ask. I briefly touched on this. His response was to deflect and it was obvious he could not outline the process for filling the role. It was pretty obvious no one had worked on the site at the time. It's clear GNC had no competent person on staff and no one with deep experience on algorithms, information retrieval, ranking systems, how the semantic web, or how search engines rank sites for that matter. Instead I learned thru research they hired a guy with a degree and no deep experience. That speaks volumes. No wonder why they can't get growth or grow a team.
