Interview

I applied online and somebody from HR reached out to me stating that I may be a good fit for the team. However, before they schedule a phone screen they wanted to review a recent strategy that I created. Most of these communications happened over the weekend and were sent late at night, which caused me a raise an eyebrow and question work/life balance. I am always hesitant to supply a project or piece of work early in the interview process, especially when they don't offer to compensate you for your time or extend an NDA confirming that it is for interview purposes only, but against my better judgement, I sent it over. And. Never. Heard. From. Them. Again.

Interview

First call is a recruiter, she is very kind and asked me some general questions. We seem have a good conversation, so she directly scheduled the next interview for me. The second interview is suppose to be with the SVP Analytics, but she's on vacation. So I was assigned to a mean, awful woman who didn't even say her name clearly in the first beginning. Then she was trying to ask me questions that are not related to analytics. 1. Only asked about one of my experience, and probing for media side instead of analytics. She said she was probing me for media experience since she thought someone with media experience will more likely to succeed in this role. OKAY. 2. Ok so I don't have any SPECIFIC media experience since I just graduated from school and how could I have execution experience? Then she said again and again: what exactly do you use by interrupting my sentences again and again. 3. She said: you could have used XXX tools, they are really easy to use. OKAY, the things is, I said this is not part of the project, the company didn't ask me to use it, my manager didn't think it's that important to use XXX tools to do that part of the project, since we have enough information to work on. She was trying to make me realize I should have done something, but I didn't! I don’t have the access, and I don’t know the tool she mentioned, why she was always trying to embarrass me and be SO MEAN to me???? I don't have a single clue of how this happened, but this is absolutely the WORST interview experience I have ever had.

Interview

I saw the posting on Indeed and LinkedIn. My experience was spot on for the position and I felt very confident as I went through three phone calls and an in-person visit. Perhaps I was the first to interview, but the process took over a month and about two weeks of follow-ups waiting on their decision. Sadly, I am here to leave a review much like the ones I had read, where the HR DOES NOT REACH OUT TO THE CANDIDATE. You should never place your chances on one job but after consistent communication and even the HR rep promising to reach out either way when a decision is made, they left me in radio silence (for another two weeks). I didn't even bother reaching out again, I got the hint..

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Geometry Global (Chicago, IL)

Interview

A recruiter reached out to me on Linkedin to talk about the position. The phone call went well I thought and the recruiter seemed nice. She said she would get back to me in 1-2 days. She then decided to ghost and ignore me entirely after even after following up with her. I hope if this recruiter ever looks for a job she gets ghosted so she'll know what it is like and maybe they'll know how it feels.

I applied in-person. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Geometry Global (Akron, OH) in Jan 2019

Interview

The most drawn out interview process I have ever experienced. It was clear the company was completely unorganized and constantly adjusting their size. Based upon what the directors and HR representatives told me, they have undergone several large turnovers. I was coming in after the latest. I thought this was completely inappropriate and unprofessional to disclose. Questions were very vague and again communication was horrible. They scheduled all my interviews for one day but failed to tell me and other HR reps that I was meeting with several people. They walked me out and said goodbye when there were others waiting to see me next. I had to go back a separate day to do my follow-up interview. After several weeks of leaving messages for HR specialists and managers, I finally spoke with someone else who didn’t even interview me. They kept apologizing they hadn’t “heard from the client and couldn’t make a decision yet” and even blamed the weather one time because they said they thought a storm was coming and sent everyone home! Utterly ridiculous. Finally they said they client had backed out and the position was no longer available. They said that since they wanted to hire me initially, that I should apply for another position. I said I was interested and again waited a week to talk with someone. I was clearly qualified for either job and they scheduled my THIRD interview with another department. They didn’t feel I was qualified for the other job and the interview was a complete waste of time. We barely got to discuss my experience at all. HR told me they “didn’t want this to be the end” and could see me being successful here but maybe timing was bad. I said there would be no way I could do a fourth interview seeing as I was working full time through this entire process. It took literally over 6 weeks to finally hear a no from someone. Avoid this place at all costs. Not only will they avoid telling you the truth about the communication and protocols, they will avoid your call at all costs. HR horribly out of touch and will not help at all in the decision-making process. I will never apply here again or recommend this company to anyone I know. I was completely disgusted by their unprofessional attitude and was shocked that they had any employees working here after the games that I witnessed firsthand.

Interview Questions
  • Most of the questions were either yes or no, or the interviewer was just reading down a list of prepared questions and wasn’t concerned with an answer.
