    Software Development Engineer Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at GoDaddy (New York, NY).

    Interview

Applied online and received a hacker rank challenge . Finished it with all test cases passing but no reply after that for months . It has been over two weeks. If the reason they state is too many people apply and get through hacker rank , maybe they could keep an other level of filtering with a phone interview or coding challenge again to filter applications but they choose to keep the candidates in dark which is not a good thing. Bad experience.

    Devops Engineer Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Tempe, AZ
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GoDaddy (Tempe, AZ) in December 2016.

    Interview

Applied online for the role of DevOps Engineer and received an email to set up some time for an initial phone screen with the recruiter. After the phone call, I was given a take home coding test via email with a deadline of few hours. The coding challenge was simple, it required to parse through a log file and print relevant information. Within a few minutes of submitting the code, I got a standard rejection letter and upon follow up I was told to go back and read the instructions. The code worked fine, printing all the information as asked in the instructions but I think I missed one thing in the instruction manual which was not very clear. I thought of following up again but with the first email I received being so rude, I decided not to. I felt like I wasted my time working on the problem.
This is not my first bad experience with the company. Previously I had applied for the position of Site Reliability Engineer where I had two rounds of interviews, first with the recruiter and the second with the hiring manager. The hiring manager round mostly consisted 'yes/no' type questions and questions like 'rate yourself on a scale of 10 in various tools and technologies' and finally ended the call with the question of 'what is internet'. Never heard back!!
    Quite sad and disappointing!!

    Software Developer Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in San Francisco, CA

    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at GoDaddy (San Francisco, CA).

    Interview

I got the interview after meeting a representative from the career fair.
I had a technical interview and the interviewer was very nice. Three weeks passed and I did not hear back so I decided to email my recruiter. I did not get a response for the next two weeks. I had emailed him about three times before he decided to respond. He doesnt tell me I was rejected or accepted but asks if I want to do something completely different from what I applied for across the country.
I said yes and asked to set up an interview, another 2 weeks pass no response.
Overall, this has been a really frustrating experience and communication was absolutely horrible. I have read many reviews about GoDaddy and they all seem to have a very similar situation to mine.

    Senior Product Manager Interview

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GoDaddy (Seattle, WA) in December 2016.

    Interview

Quick turn around time (less than two weeks) from the time I applied online to my phone screen with the hiring manager. I get pretty skeptical about the online application process but it's clear that the recruiter for this role was on top of it and reviews the applications.

    Interview Questions

    • The hiring manager had pretty specific needs within product management - expertise in a specific area - so questions focused on my depth of experience in that area.   1 Answer

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at GoDaddy.

    Interview

"The selection team for the above position has selected a finalist candidate, extended an offer and the search is now closed. Unfortunately the team decided to not advance your application/candidacy further". Not surprised by the note after a month of not hearing back from the recruiter - however, was not professional as twice had worked with the recruiter to set up 1-1 phone calls with the hiring manager that never did get set-up and appeared to go down a black hole. An email or call stating that the recruiting effort was going in another direction would have been appreciated vs. my reaching out a few times to insure that I was available to connect. Yes, they are busy recruiting hard - however - once you reach out to a candidate you should close the loop quickly if you have stated that you (the recruiter) wish to schedule further talks within the next weeks.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at GoDaddy in November 2016.

    Interview

3 total assesments, a phone interview and an in person interview. Assesments were easy, but did great to ensure the minimal knowledge needed for position/training was there. Overall the process was smooth and easy, the people are very nice and recruiter was extremely engaged and knowledgeable. I am impressed with the facilities and recruiting process, they are above and beyond any prior experience with padt employers.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at GoDaddy (Scottsdale, AZ) in November 2016.

    Interview

Formal face-to-face interview with team leader of department. Minimal dress / preparation requirements. Sat down in big conference room that was actually reserved for a team that was supposed to meet there. They had to use the smaller conference room. The interviewer had a booklet of prepared notes and questions but did not seem organized/prepared for the actual interview and had to look through his notes constantly to find what to ask next. Otherwise the interviewer seemed open and receptive so it was if not orderly at least comfortable to conduct the Q/A.
