    Investment Banking Associate Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs.

    Interview

Pretty standard process. 60% behavioral, 40% technical. The interviewer was somewhat friendly, but did pass judgment when I stumbled on one of the technicals. I will say that HR was very disappointing throughout the whole process. I found HR to be very unprofessional at this firm, particularly compared to its peers.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (New York, NY) in October 2016.

    Interview

I spoke with many alumni from my school in order to receive a first round interview. The first round interview was a HireVue. You record yourself answering 5 fit based questions with no technical questions. The experience was very off putting and definitely takes some getting use to.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (Jersey City, NJ) in September 2016.

    Interview

Applied online. Video interview two weeks later. Invited to Superday at Jersey City Office. Three interviews, thirty minutes each: 2-1, 1-1, 2-1. They were very friendly but the MD was intimidating, that is his job. Overall great experience but must be confident or else say goodbye to an offer.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (Dallas, TX).

    Interview

First applied online. This was followed by a screening phone call. The phone call was just behavioral. Next was a superday in their office in which you are interviewed by 8-10 people within the firm form analyst to managing director. Overall the process was OK.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (New York, NY) in August 2016.

    Interview

The first round process for Goldman is now done through HireVue, and online video interviewing service. They did this to cut costs and to cast a wider net of first round interviews (and probably to fend off accusations of bias). Easier/less time consuming but awkward interface. Weird to see yourself on camera and I would recommend the option where you block the image of yourself so you can focus on looking at your computer's camera and answering the question.

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs.

    Interview

Applied through school process. I was called into the room where two people talked to me. They were very intimidating to be honest- I think because I lacked in previous investment banking experience they sort of looked down upon me but I was able to answer all their questions. Still have not heard back though.
