    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Bengaluru (India)) in May 2017.

    Interview

HR does a great job! Extremely professional and helpful..
Schedules were bang on time and everyone were punctual
Most technical interviewers were good except one, who was least interested to listen to my answers.
It's definitely not the toughest interviews to crack.
They expect answers which they have in mind, which I didn't like.
    Overall a good experience!

    Interview

It's a slow and prolonged process. It could easily take few months. Be ready for that.

2 rounds telephonic with product managers from Mountain view followed by full day onsite.

Interviewers were frantically taking notes. Not sure if they got what I was saying.

If interviewing in India there can be video call with other locations.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Google (Bengaluru (India)) in February 2016.

    Interview

The interviewer was reasonably congenial and since it was phone interview so I did not know the interviewer. It was not very clear from the interviewer's side as to the kinds of answers that he wanted. I could understand that he was in a hurry and since it was telephonic screening hence it became all the more difficult to understand and appreciate what the interviewer wanted. It appeared he had a set answer and was interested in something very similar.

    Interview Questions

    • 1. Given a dictionary of strings and another string find out if the string is an exact match to some words in the dictionary or varies at most in only one place of some word of the dictionary.   1 Answer

Very professional, prompt and well managed.

Both the PMs I interviewed with were courteous. Google want their PMs to be very creative.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Google (Bengaluru (India)) in March 2016.

    Interview

I had applied for the STEP intern at Google India. Since the program is for first or second year undergraduate students, the level is quite easy. The first round is shortlisting the candidates based on resume. The second round was a telephonic interview. They select very few (one or two students max.) if many apply from the same institute/ college.

    Interview Questions

    • The questions were from sorting, data structures, graphs, strings, hashing and C++(STL)/Java (if mentioned in the resume).   1 Answer

    Interview

It was a phone screen, very well arranged by the recruiter. Someone called me from Europe - the connection was pretty bad (inaudible) - I believe he called via Skype to my mobile phone. After some 10 mins of repeated calling, the line got better.
