I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Google (San Jose, CA)
Interview
My resume was submitted by a friend who is already working at Google. I was contacted by email a few days later, notifying me that while I was being passed over for one position, they were interested in talking to me about administrative opportunities at Google. They asked for me to send my resume again, and schedule a time for an introductory phone screen. After the phone screen, I was invited for a second phone interview where my critical thinking would be testing. The results of that phone call determine if my application moves forward to recruiters, or stops.
I applied online. I interviewed at Google (Midlothian, TX) in Jan 2026
Interview
Role for ABP in the Data Centers. Applied, passed the GHA, didn't hear any updates so reached out to the recruiter and we scheduled a phone screen. Proceeded to the first round interview with an admin. It was not a great experience. She was slightly rude and quite condescending. She had this attitude like she was better than everyone. She was asking hypothetical questions and I responded with concrete examples of how I handled the exact situation in the past. She said okay but I said hypothetically, how would you handle this? Let me repeat the question. She was not interested in hearing concrete examples of how I handled that exact situation. The entire 30 minutes was weird and I was relieved to disconnect that Google Meet! Glad it didn't work out. If she is any indication of what the culture, people, and work environment is like within Google Data Centers, then I definitely don't want to work there.

Question 1
Hypothetically, if you had to establish room names in the data center for your team to easily locate them, how would you handle this?
The prorcess was very professional. Went through 3 rounds of interview, all online. Prepare very thoroughly if you want to make it through. They know when you are not prepared so don’t just try to wink it.

They will want to know if you fit into their culture.
I applied online. I interviewed at Google (Seattle, WA)
Interview
Interview process was great. Definitely research the process online as others have described their process and how to thoroughly respond to interview questions. Was then placed in a “pool” waiting on team interviews, never got a call back. Suspect there wasn’t really an opening or was filled internally. Was told to continue to follow up, which I did. It’s been years now and my application was closed.
