    Senior Loan Processor Interview

Anonymous Employee in Los Angeles, CA
    Accepted Offer
    Neutral Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Green Box Loans (Los Angeles, CA) in August 2014.

    Interview

a nice lady who did not know anything asked a few questions about processing and hired me on the spot. I should have known it was odd to get hired on the spot but I thought I did good. credible companys do background checks and take time to consider applicants so they make the right choice. here i got hired on the spot and so did most of the staff which is why the turnover rate is so high. no background check, no drug test, if you have a pulse and some mortgage background you can get hired. they have no intentions of employees staying long term.

    Junior Underwriter Interview

    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Green Box Loans (Los Angeles, CA).

    Interview

Owner spoke about himself the entire time. It was like I was interviewing him. Totally awkward and weird which should have been a red flag. Paying for parking was not mentioned AT ALL. Dirty and tacky office. No sense of time. Hands down the oddest interview I have ever been on. I should have ran out of there and not looked back. That was only the first mistake I made. The second being accepting the offer.

    Interview Questions

    • None he just spoke about himself. There are no plans to keep anyone around so they're not even interested in your abilities or successes.   Answer Question

    I AM the INTERVIEWER Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Los Angeles, CA
    No Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Green Box Loans (Los Angeles, CA) in February 2018.

    Interview

Our interview process is very difficult. On a daily basis we received 100's of resumes. Some are presented correctly, professionally, some are simply an email and a phone number. I read and attempt to decipher every resume received. Open each one and review. When a resume is submitted and there is not match whatsoever, I will even send out an email and tell the candidate Thank you, however your background is not a match to what we are looking for.
If it is a match, we set up an interview. Sometimes people are working, and cannot come to meet with us, and we will go out of our way and extend a Saturday or a Sunday, then of course there is a location. When I receive a response like, 'well my girlfriend and I are moving to your area, I will let them know, please tell me when you have moved and we will meet". When we extend our Saturday or Sunday, we are literally going out of our way to accommodate the candidate. The time and date is left to them. They can then email, call or text me. Unfortunately as a company we do not do video interviews, I prefer to interview face to face in real life.

    Interview Questions

    • I will always ask are you OK with the commute. When there is a commute time of 1.30 minutes, I must not only think about the potential candidate, but the commitment to the company. 1.30 minutes is one way - and does not take traffic into account. I must think of all of these different aspects.   1 Answer
