    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Gymboree (Lakewood, CO).

    Interview

One interview with district manager face to face after communicating via email. Initially applied for part time but a store manager was needed in addition to the part time management position. Took place in mall food court.

    Interview Questions

    • What was the best team you were a part of?   Answer Question
    • Can you think of a time when you had to operate on very little or no direction?   Answer Question

    Reasons for Declining

Company is run very poorly. This location was a high theft location, and run on one person staff at most times. Store manager is the only full time person on staff so they are asked to carry a lot of the store themselves. Did not sound like legal breaks are allowed being run on one person at most of the time, and I am a breastfeeding mother so I wouldn't have been able to pump to supply my child with food.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Gymboree.

    Interview

Spoke with both the District Manager and Market Manager on the phone which seemed to be more of a "welcome" call and then first initial interview with the Market Manager was set up for the following week. From there, it was decided to have me move on with the process and interview with the Regional Manager which is tough to say the least. I had an offer of employment by that evening!

    Interview Questions

    • None too overly difficult as long as you have real life examples to back it up. Not looking for a "what would you do" answer but "what DID you do" in a particular circumstance.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

Didn't have to negotiate. I got what I requested plus a little more

    Interview Questions

    • No questions are difficult. The main thing to focus on in this interview is how you will deliver the best customer service or as they call it, "legendary customer service." This interview is very basic if you have been in retail for an extended amount of time, so there will obviously be questions about how you will diffuse problems between employees, handle loss prevention, how you will assist in onboarding, and how effective you are with visual merchandizing.   Answer Question
