TLDR: After almost 25 days process I would GENUINELY suggest to any self respecting developer to please avoid investing precious time doing code challenge for Home as their feedback is not at all credible because they don't even look at your code/README.md etc. files and look for ABSOLUTELY any reason to reject by giving false feedback. Please don't fall for the positive reviews on glassdoor and instead interview for companies who would RESPECT your time, value you as a professional and if things don't go well then atleast provide you with a honest and helpful feedback. Long version: Home attitude was CONDESCENDING right from the start as they directly started with the code challenge without EVEN A SINGLE FIRST CALL as they think they are above the candidate and didn't want to waste they time by talking to candidates first. That should have been my first indication to not go through the process but I was naive and so Inspite of that I trusted that the company would conduct the process honestly and so I invested so much of my time completing a lengthy code challenge even by writing all the JSDOC, code explanations, filled README.md, wrote docker compose and followed each and every requirement set by them and even going above and beyond what was asked as I have a lot of experience so I did my best to showcase that. After completing the lengthy code challenge, for 12 consecutive days I was waiting for feedback (one more reviewer mentioned this on glassdoor) and had to request them multiple time to atleast talk to me once and give me feedback as I never had a chance to even know whether the role is for me or who the team is or how the company is or what salary are they offering etc. nothing. After a long wait of 12 days I got the feedback and it was completely untrue and least credible. They didn't bother to read any code documentation, explanations and README.md file and instead gave a complete FALSE AND FULL OF LIES feedback. It was so different from the reality that I felt that they gave me a review of someone else's code as my code was nothing like what they have described. Normally I never write reviews on glassdoor as they are too time consuming but here I felt like I should write because companies like HOME think that just because they are the one hiring they can do whatever they want with the candidate and disrespect their time and intelligence. True that an employer can hire anyone they want but after such a long code challenge at least they should give a credible and honest review to the candidate and keep the sanity of interviews intact which is trust based. To anyone reading this I, with all honesty, really DO NOT recommend candidates to interview for HOME. Their interview process is not only very very long but they do reject for any and I mean absolutely any reason (instead of giving credible review) and they really don't know what they want. Instead interview for companies who genuinely want to hire a candidate (and not just do a test run to analyse market and waste candidate's time) and who would respect candidates time.
