How would you handle an upset customer calling in because

  he is unable to log into his account online and make his payment?

Advised I would empathize with his situation, assure I can help, and then troubleshoot the problem. If unable to fix the issue and needed to escalate it up, I then would offer to take his payment and waive the fee (if applicable) for having to pay it online
