Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Huntington National Bank (Columbus, OH) in April 2013.

Interview

I was given this job by my manager. I was already working for them as their Teller Supervisor. Many jobs are like this within the branch; if you work hard and have a good rapport with your manager, they will offer you promotions when they open up.

Interview Questions

  • What is your biggest weakness?   1 Answer

Negotiation

Yes. HR tried to get me to accept the position at a lower salary than what I wanted but I stood my ground and told them that if I didn't get what I had asked for then I would decline the position. They were desperate to fill the position so in the end I got the salary that I had requested.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Huntington National Bank (Charleston, WV) in May 2012.

    Interview

Very quick interview process. Phone interview lasted 25 minutes. It was question after question. The guy was nice that was doing it but was demanding on exact date XX/XX/XXX that I worked on my past jobs. ( in my opinion this is an entry level job that requires no college education or any real work experience anyways) Kinda acted like an ass about it.

    Interview Questions

    • When did you experience a change in the workplace and how did you adapt and what was the outcome? How would you get sale leads? Plenty of other questions that you have to tell what happened and the outcome of the situation   Answer Question

    Reasons for Declining

$12/hr w/ commission and no one would tell me the structure. I have a bachelors in BA and 3 years of business experience. No thanks!! High turnover job. Wonder why?
Pays less than a personal banker but you have to be a teller and a PB for less money. Kinda stupid to make someone do 2 jobs and pay them less.

At first you fill out the application. Then you receive a phone call from a recruiter. After that you go to your branch and interview. It was super easy very simple. I am trying to get to a different spot now so we will see how that goes.
