    Marketing Manager Interview

    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Intuitive Surgical (Sunnyvale, CA).

    Interview

Most intense & enjoyable process I've experienced (tied w/ Medtronic Leadership program interviews). Initial HR conversation w/ Ken, followed by in-person meetings, dispelled any concerns I originally had about culture (based on old reviews on this site). This place is filled w/ super passionate, smart, engaging, good people. If you want a 9-5 job, where you don't ever have to work late, this may not be the right place for you. But it's definitely a culture that respects work/life balance contrary to what older reviews may state. About interview: 1st step: phone call w/ HR-- expect to speak w/ an extremely intelligent (IQ *and* EQ)/product-savvy pro who will not bore you w/ conventional, generic questions. Ken could do any number of the jobs he's recruiting for. 2nd step: in-person day of interviews (probably 6-7 meetings) and 1 hr for presentation (you pick relevant topic--choose wisely, know your audience). Whole process moved quickly. Very efficient, high-touch & high-tech (effective use of online component, etc). This seems like the ideal way to handle recruiting/hiring.

    Interview Questions

    • Interviews are very conversational. Be prepared to speak in-depth about anything on your resume (obviously). Prepare good questions that you're actually interested in knowing the answers to.   Answer Question

    Interview

I applied online and the process took about 6 weeks+. The interview process was typical for the job. Initial phone/webex interview. Then a coding challenge. Finally, an onsite interview that lasted ~6hrs. If you are given an offer, there is a background check. Overall, the experience was very pleasant and I got meet a lot of nice people. The best part is to demo/operate the DaVinci Surgical System (highly recommend to do if given the chance)!!!

    Human Resources Interview

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Intuitive Surgical (Sunnyvale, CA) in November 2016.

    Interview

4 Phone Interviews, a face to face interview day in the office. The process was fairly smooth. I felt like a lot of the questions were asked over and over again so it may have been better to do a panel interview rather than several different ones individually. I am still waiting to be reimbursed for my expenses for the final interview trip so that is the only disappointing part.

    Interview

A recruiter started the process by conducting an initial phone interview (~15 minutes). A few weeks later I was contacted again to set up a Skype interview with the team I would be working with. Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Intuitive Surgical (Sunnyvale, CA) in June 2016.

    Interview

Started with a phone screening by the recruiter who was very helpful throughout the entire recruitment process. After passing the phone screening, I was invited to attend two half day in-person interviews. Then I was invited back as a finalist for another half day of interviews. I met with several employees, mainly from the hiring department, including managers, directors, and the VP, all of whom made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire interview process.

Each individual I met with one-on-one asked intelligent questions and shared their own experience of what lead them to work at Intuitive Surgical. Everyone was very motivated, excited about their work and the company's mission. A common theme was the collaborative work environment/culture and exciting growth taking place throughout the organization.

    Interview Questions

    • I was asked several standard interview questions regarding my background, experience, interest and contribution as it related to the position and the company as a whole.   Answer Question
