Needed to submit a CV and cover letter explaining my motivation for applying for an investment banking role, why I chose JP Morgan, and why I was a suitable candidate.
First round of interviews was prefaced with a 20 question verbal reasoning test to be completed in 20 minutes. I found it fairly easy but it is pressed for time, although you are allowed to use calculators; the time consuming part is processing the data given in the questions to work out what numbers to key in!
In the first interview I was probed more on my motivations for applying, why I had left an academic environment. I was asked a few brainteasers and math questions. Then onto the second interview, general competency questions. In the second and final round of interviews I had to do a group study and presentational role play, playing the part of an acquisition target in a hostile bid.
Two more technical interviews, offer at the end of the day. Job done, no harm done.
