Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (New York, NY) in January 2013.

Interview

I had an internship with the firm already and applied to this internally. Got called back for interviews on the last week of the internship.

Interview was pretty easy on the technical side - they asked some basic options and financial intuition questions. Talked to a couple of the MDs as well, and the conversation was generally pretty relaxed.

Interview Questions

  • This was not a programming position at all but they asked about how to find the missing value in an array of consecutive integers. (I guess you can say this is more of a general math question that utilizes computer science principles such as big-O notation.)   Answer Question

Negotiation

Extremely rigid. At a huge corporation like this, they have set numbers for each level of seniority with no wiggle room regardless of extra experience or other credentials you bring to the table. I was barely able to get a $5k relo out of the deal.
