Easy Interview

Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (Fairview, NJ).

Interview

I interviewed for a Business Improvement role in one of the majors LOBs. A total of two interviews - one with and ED and the other one with a VP. All went ok and was told by the ED that another round of interviews was forthcoming. Weeks went by and didn’t hear from the ED or the recruiter. Sent a follow up email to the recruiter and received no response. Finally, sent a thank you letter to the Managing Director ... and then, voila, I got the canned rejection email within hours of sending my email. I was being considered for a different role but decided to withdraw my application. A total waste of time and effort. Stay away from the unit I mentioned above.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (Columbus, OH) in June 2016.

    Interview

They have about 5-6 people come to interview you in a room. In hindsight, no one that interviewed me knew what the job was or really read my resume. At first I thought it was a privilege to work there but now I know that turnover was so bad they took anyone that was qualified.

    Interview Questions

    • This was supposed to be a quantitative role so the questions were statistics and SAS oriented. Unfortunately my actual role had nothing to do with either of those. I did not even have SAS on my computer.   1 Answer

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (New York, NY) in April 2016.

    Interview

Had a brief discussion with the internal recruiter and then setup a date / time for the phone interview. The hiring manager then called me at the appointed time. We discussed the position and how my skills and experience and alignment with it.

I was asked to proceed to the onsite interview, which would have been a few one on ones with other members of the team. However, the position was listed at the wrong location, so it ended up not being a good fit.

    Interview

Standard behavioral questions. Easy going no worries with the interviewer. Was very professional and valued what I had to say or ask. They were standard questions looking for results. It was very laid back but very professional. Gave me time at the end to ask any questions that I may have had.
