Product Manager Interview

Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Johnson & Johnson (Orlando, FL) in May 2009.

Interview

Process began with a 30' phone screening with relaxed, conversational-type questions, one of which asked for preferences of where in J&J you wanted to work. Next phase was a recruiting mega-event - I guess about 400 candidates from all over the world - lasting 2 days in a hotel. Before the event different J&J companies screened your resume and then booked you for an interview, so that when you got to the event you had an interview schedule in blocks of 1 hour. There were also sessions where you learned about the Credo and interviews where they pose an ethical challenge.
A couple weeks after the event I received an offer from the local affiliate and then I had to negotiate salary from the initial offer.

Interview Questions

  • Questions were pretty standard, but J&J differentiates itself on its set of core values in the Credo, so there are cases based on that and while there are probably some wrong answers, there are also several right ones. The cases pose a situation and ask you to make a decision.   1 Answer
