Was asked to present a portfolio piece, do a whiteboarding challenge with two other designers, then was given some heads down time alone to design a landing page for a company which was presented to a panel of a few designers.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Konrad Group in Jan 2025
Interview
recruiter level (30min) - Portfolio (1 hour) - Design Challenge (3.5 hours) --> I didnt clear this. I'm still not sure what they were looking for really. They did whiteboarding for 30min (Which was okay); and as for the rest of the time they focused on UI. Honestly you will not get a perfect solution in that time-frame. Its just not realistic. You also have to present for 30min within that time. I didnt clear it, neither did i get any feedback- They dont even connect with you on Linkedin. I have heard negative reviews about their Design challenge, and now i have first hand experience. If the team is reading this - If you want someone good at UI- Give them time and not just 2 hours; If you are focused on UX (which you should be) - assess on that.
last is an interview with the leadership. I dont know whats that about. The whole process is so rigourous for an ENTRY LEVEL DESIGNER.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Konrad Group (New York, NY)
Interview
The first interview was a basic introductory phone interview and the second stage was an in-office design challenge completed within 4 hours. All interviewers were friendly and made the process very easy. The design challenge was a little unrealistic for the limited time, but you could make it up by presenting your work and thought process to the team.
