The GM talked to me for about 90 minutes and explained why I should work for LA Fitness. He did not ask me about my background, experience, interests or expectations. He had hired me by the time I left. It was a really fast process coming in off the street to being hired. However this is not uncommon for sales gigs.
I had two separate interviews. First was with the general manager then met with the VP. Both of which were very laid back.
The questions were mostly about why I liked the fitness industry and how comfortable I would be selling to people in the gym and creating new marketing approaches for training

Interview
this was not an interview for Fitness director, they DO NOT give you that position. you have to start at the bottom of the barrel. I applied for Fitness director, but was told would not even have the opportunity to reach that position until minimum 6 months, and only if you met sales goals and if position was open. they Lied about position available. you start as a personal trainer sales person. no supervisory position, make $500 a month plus possible commission.
