      EAP Therapist Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Lyra Health (Chicago, IL) in Aug 2022

      Interview

The only reason I applied to get on the Eap panel was because a former client of mine had lira as their Eap. beer in mind I am on most insurance panels and many employee assistance programs. I’ve actually never had to interview before for any of these experiences and I have been in the field for 30 years. The interview lasted 45 minutes and as mentioned below by other people who interviewed interviewed with them, their entire campaign platform is that you have to follow one of their evidence-based models. It actually completely dismisses Experience, skill level, etc. Let’s put it this way, I have over 30 publications, I am a trained neuropsychologist, I am arguably One of the countries leading experts in immigration psychology and I got rejected. Only after that did I do some pretty extensive reading about what’s going on with lyra. somebody said that they found out in several rounds of interviewing that all of my sessions would be recorded. Have they said that upfront I would’ve never gone through the interview in the first place. Also, I do find it creepy that they feel perfectly comfortable with people on their panels who identify themselves as coaches, but they reject a perfectly good Clint licensed clinical psychologist with 30 years of experience? This review may sound like sour grapes, but I get the distinct impression that they are not at all interested in finding the best therapists. They are interested in there branding that reinforces that the specific evidence-based therapies that they are using is the reason why many large companies like Google should use them. However, in 1 million years I would never choose to go see a life coach over a licensed clinical psychologist regardless of their skill level or what therapy they practice. Yikes!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

over and over again they asked the same question about what are the precise steps in evidence-based therapy that I execute with my clients. They may have asked the question different ways each time. As a veteran therapist, we all know therapy doesn’t work like that. You can’t be that rigid and be a good therapist.
