I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Marshalls (North Myrtle Beach, Horry, SC) in February 2016.

    Interview

I walked in the front door and asked a woman at the register where to go for my interview. They said I had to fill out an in-store application since I applied through Snag-a-job. It took about 20-30 minutes before they actually took me back to the office for the interview. Interview took less than 15 minutes. I wasn't really sure if I had the job or not until they called me a few days later to set up a time for me to come in.

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Marshalls (Virginia (South Africa)) in June 2015.

    Interview

I walked in & asked for an application, filled it out, & gave it back. I actually spoke to a manager but she wasn't the hiring manager & she asked me some details about my application & said the hiring manager would give me a call if she liked what she saw. I called about a week later & spoke to the hiring manager who said she wasn't reviewing applications yet & would call me at a future time if she did. She called me about 2 weeks later to set up an interview which went well. She called me to set up another interview with the store manager & the store manager offered me a position. I'm in college & she was really lenient as far as me coming back for breaks even though I wasn't sure if I'd be leaving at the time. I dressed professionally for both interviews (a dress, heels, etc.) The people working there were all really nice & helpful & welcoming.

    Interview Questions

    Negotiation

Marshalls' starting pay is $9 an hour so I didn't feel the need to negotiate being that I'm young with no prior experience in retail.
