Interview

Applied on Handshake, then HR called. I then moved on to a technical and behavior interview with 2 people in sequence. The process was smooth. After about a week, HR called and asked me who else did I interview with, how did I like the interview process, and then sent me the official offer.

Easy Interview
Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Mastercard (Singapore) in Dec 2018

Interview

1) Assessment Centre (45 min) 2) 1-to-1 interview with Hiring Manager (45 min) Both held on the same day. Entered as a group of 6, and were divided into 2 groups of 3 each. Group A did the business case presentation while group B did the interviews first. Then we switched. Case was fairly easy, it was about how Mastercard might advise an ecommerce startup on making its payment process simpler and more efficient as it aims to launch in a new SEA market. Interview was largely CV focused with some behavioural/competency based questions. HR was really friendly and took the time to explain the Mastercard internship and graduate programmes to candidates, and was efficient in responding to emails.

Interview Questions
  • How do you resolve conflict?
  • What are three reasons you why you want to join Mastercard? And three reasons why you wouldn't join Mastercard?
  • Tell me about a time when you faced a difficult challenge and how you solved it creatively?
  • What was your greatest achievement at XXX Company? And what was your biggest failure or mistake?

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Mastercard

Interview

They give pretty lay back Interviews. A lot of personal questions. No technical questions. I interviewed with two software teams for internship positions and end up liking both. There is also a half hour tour around the campus after the interview session. Remember to bring a phone ID to pass the security check.

Interview

Met the lead designer of the department at the school career fair. We hit it off. Did an on-campus interview. Was notified to second-round pretty soon. Had a phone second round which was 'crit an app' as well as some behavioral questions. Made it to the final round, but was unable to go. Overall good experience. Dealing with HR was not so good though.

Interview Questions
  • The second round interviewer asked me to pick one of the several popular apps available on mobile. He then asked me to critique it by going through the different application screens and asking me about what should be improved.
