I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at McKinsey & Company (Chennai (India)).

    Interview

I applied through college. We had like three rounds. First was like an online exam testing your command over English and your typing skills. The second was a face to face interview. The third round, they ask you to prepare a ppt. You have to prepare yourself and get ready to answer all their interview questions. Like what did you learn from the ppt or why mckinsey or why this role in particular etc.

    Business Presentation Specialist Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Coimbatore (India)

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at McKinsey & Company (Coimbatore (India)).

    Interview

I interviewed through off campus in Coimbatore. It took 3 days and had 6 rounds in total. The first two rounds will test your English grammar, vocabulary and how fast you can type effectively. The third round will be a face to face round which was easy to crack. Just be honest with them. Next came the technical round where they gave 90 mins to present two documents in the form of PPTs. The last round was conducted in Vivanta by Taj. The first face to face was nearly for 1 hour 15 mins. There's nothing to worry about. They'll stress every nook and corner in your resume and ask questions based on that. It's pretty much simpler when you can establish a connection with the recruiter. Honesty is the key. Just be yourself. All the questions will be based on your personal details. Nothing new. The last round was with a HR who gave some 4 situation questions and asked how will I react to them. Then the PPT that I made was discussed. Few questions will be repeated and it'll be tiring. Nevertheless, worth it all!

This doesn't mean we just do what the client asks because they pay us for professional advice. Sometimes that advice is telling them bad news or a strategy that might be painful to execute in the short term. The firm is filled with amazing, diverse people at every level. Having joined the firm as a senior expert, after 18 years in the technology sector, I can say that this is very unique. We are called in to help clients with a variety of challenges, but the most rewarding for me is having the ability to use technology to solve really large problems - either at the company, country or global level. McKinsey is able to bring amazingly diverse talents to help solve a problem, while using processes and methodology that has been proven over the past 90+ years. Also, since our people are the jewels of the firm, they treat us very well. Great benefits packages, travel accommodations and ample opportunity for training and career expansion. Finally, the company commits to good citizenship, with net carbon footprint of zero since 2018 and a commitment to many philanthropic efforts.” – Full Review
