Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Merkle in May 2010.

Interview

Company puts employees thru grueling day of gang interviews in company (interviewed by 6-8 different people) and then you get the "privilege" of presenting to this group to see how you present under pressure

Interview Questions

  • not any question but rather then group presentation at end of a long day of interviews that proves challenging   Answer Question

Negotiation

Pretty simple and straightforward process. Offer was good to begin with so negotiations were over minor things

    Interview

Interview questions were not in line with the job description for this position. Interviewer (hiring manager) had a very vague notion of the qualifications he was looking for in a successful candidate (i.e., previous senior role in Big 5). He explained that they wanted to take the firm in a new direction, but wouldn't detail what that was or how they planned to get there. After I asked questions to gain more understanding of what that meant -- important for this senior role - he still woudn't talk about the direction and only wanted to talk about my previously project experience. Bottom line, I couldn't determine how to target my answers to meet what they were looking for - it was a fishing expedition.
