The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Merrill in Jan 2007
Interview
Typical banking interview. Why do you want to do banking? Why the firm? Some technical questions (how would you value a Company? What are the benefits / strengths of the basic valuation methodologies) and then fit (what do you do for fun? are you a hard worker?)
In general, the interviewer is very friendly and the interview is well organized. Questions are very investment banking focused, and the interviewer would ask following questions based on your answers.
5) (Optional) Tell me about any deal between two companies that you would "pitch" to an investment banking client i.e. we think you should buy this company and here are a few reasons.
