I interviewed at Metropolitan Museum of Art
The interview process seemed hopeful and was very professional until I lost out on the job because the receptionist got jealous. It felt very racist and petty. They hired a man instead.
- Basic industry questions about the job and my past experiences.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, NY) in Nov 2022
Three rounds of interviews, one was on site. They had a team taking turns interviewing throughly 3 hours. Some of interview was during the tour of the staff facilities. CHRO, HREIS team, benefits team, and Talent team interview you. Plus the project manager and compensation manager.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, NY) in May 2022
Unprofessional, disorganized, and inconsiderate. I also interviewed for this position 3 years ago - that interview lasted almost 4 hours and began with an HR interview, followed by several more on the same day. They contacted the employer I was working for at the time immediately after the interview ( I had not listed them as one of my references) without giving me time to tell my employer I had applied for this position. I did not receive an offer for the job or hear anything for two months after the interview. I found it very unprofessional for them to call a current employer if they were not seriously considering me as a candidate. A few months ago, I was contacted by someone from the hiring committee to let me know the position was open again. I didn't hear anything for over a month and when they reached out to schedule an interview, I was given 48 hours notice. The interview was in person and the communication about the process was poor and did not involve HR, which I thought strange. HR was not involved in the interview at all and when I asked for a salary range, I was told they were not allowed to provide it. I was interviewed by 6 people for about 45 minutes after a short tour of the conservation lab. They asked standard questions but did not seem interested in getting to know me and showed no evidence of looking over my resume or cover letter; and they spent a lot of time talking about negative aspects of the position. They were very focussed on whether or not I had the right personality for the job, however, they did not attempt to get to know my personality. It seemed they had already selected someone else and I wondered why they would waste time on this interview. Very disappointing considering they reached out to me initially.
- What are you most excited and least excited about this position?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, NY) in Dec 2021
Got an email a few months after applying, then scheduled two zoom calls for different departments (one I applied to and another one just reached out to me). The interviews were on Zoom and laster around 30 mins. Then they just sent me the generic rejection email they send to everyone, including the people who didn't get interviews
- How do you work in a team

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I interviewed at Metropolitan Museum of Art

I got reached out to 1-2 months after applying and heard back 2 weeks after the interview. The interviewer was very kind and informative, they reached out to me, asked for my availability, and informed me about the project I would be working on. It was not in a department that I had applied to.
- Tell me about yourself. Why do you want to intern for this job ?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I interviewed at Metropolitan Museum of Art
The interviewers were approachable and welcoming, asking very standard questions. Weakness, strengths, etc. Received an interview invitation after submitting my application through an online portal about two months later. The interview was conducted through a Zoom call with the head of the department and a potential supervisor
- What are your weaknesses and how do you handle crisis? How has your experiences at your past internships influenced your way of thinking and working?

I applied online. I interviewed at Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, NY) in Mar 2021
Interview was very informal and short and mostly expanded on the sort of information one found in the application. I felt dismissed by the interviewer from the start. Super casual and chill, over the phone so was not on zoom
- Why are you interested in the Met
