I applied through college or university. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Microsoft in May 2012
Interview
Initial position was posted through the university. I submitted a resume and a cover letter.
They then requested an interview, which I went to and received an offer 2 days later. It was a nice process and the hiring managers and interviewing managers were really friendly.

The entire process was positive; everyone was professional, intelligent, transparent and respected my time. I applied for the position online and had an initial phone screen with HR and then a few days later, a longer conversation with the hiring manager. After that, they had me take a couple of online tests (a personality test and an “IQ” style test).

Interview
1 face-to-face interview with 2 interviewers. No technical questions were asked.
