    Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Mu Sigma (Chicago, IL) in April 2017.

    Interview

Had just two phone interviews with people in India. They were both very friendly and professonal. It didn't go any further than that. I may have priced myself out of the process as the salary needs question came up in the very first of two phone conversations. I appreciated the fact that they showed any interest at all because my background was not in data analytics. Note that they send new employees to India for training of 3 -12 months in duration.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took a week. I interviewed at Mu Sigma (Chicago, IL) in March 2017.

    Interview

I met two Mu Sigma recruiters at a career fair and received an online assessment a few days later. The assessment consists of a few behavioral questions with two minute recorded responses. After that, there is a "flash round" in which a question is posted and then you have 30 seconds to respond. There was about ten questions in that round and they are also behavioral. After the recorded videos, there is a 15 question aptitude test that you must complete in under 35 minutes. The questions were fairly straight forward. Finally, you end with a twenty minute written assessment. My prompt was "Describe something you can confidentially say you're a master at" or something similar.
After passing the assessment, I attended a live webinar with two Mu Sigma employees and other candidates. Candidates were able to ask the two employees about their experiences with the company.
The last interview is a one on one with a recruiter at Mu Sigma. That interview is more of a get to know you interview and no real difficult questions are asked.

    Interview

Applied on the university portal. There was an SAT-style aptitude test. This was followed by a behavioral/technical round a week later, during which they asked about my background. I was also asked to go through a code and determine what the output would be, and was asked a basic case study

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mu Sigma (Chicago, IL) in January 2015.

    Interview

I was invited to do the online assessment after a campus career fair. The entire process (Selfie Video, Multiple Choice Questions, and Essay Section) was conducted via the internet. The Selfie Video was a recording of yourself answer a few basic resume-based and behavioral questions. This was really unsettling given that you had such a strict time constraint that I didn't realize I had until the second question. The Multiple Choice questions were not super difficult. I wouldn't stress over them. Finally, the essay section was just answering a quick prompt over what you would do with your time in Bangalore (where you are assigned to do a 4-6 month training)

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Mu Sigma (Chicago, IL) in October 2014.

    Interview

I applied through on campus recruiting. I submitted a resume, took an online aptitude test, and moved on to an in-person interview. The interview consisted of a behavioral portion and a case/brainteaser section. It was a fun interview. I enjoyed it.

    Interview Questions

    • I was given a case question that was entirely hypothetical -- the interviewer made it up on the spot. I was a little taken aback at not having actual data to work with.   Answer Question

    Interview

I applied through my university career website and received an email within a week asking that I complete an online assessment that was pretty difficult given that I had no time to prepare for it and that I was allotted 35 min. to complete it. Next, was a face-to-face interview in which the interviewer, an employee presented a case study and posed hypothetical situations and asked what I would do. Given that I have no business background, I answered to the best of my ability, but it appears that she was looking for really really specific responses to her questions, and I did not give them to her.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Mu Sigma (Evanston, IL) in December 2012.

    Interview

I had an interview with Mu Sigma in Dec 2012. The interview was scheduled in my college campus. The process was simple, I applied on their job posting on the career services site and got an on capmus interview call.
I feel the interview scheduling could have easily been done without university enrollment by just dropping them a mail on their careers section. This is a good thing if you are a lateral or an experienced candidate.
The interview was almist 45 mins long. The interviewers were senior managers. The first question they asked even before I could settle down was to sell them a bottle of mineral water.
It was an interesting interview where they asked me some business case questions and some generic behavioral questions.
What really disappointed me was their unprofessional attitude after the interview where they did not get back to me after the interview and the coordinator did not even respond to my calls or emails.

    Interview Questions

    • while there was no difficult or unexpected question as such, I was surprised by the "sell this bottle to me" approach while interviewing for an analyst role.   Answer Question

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Mu Sigma (Chicago, IL) in June 2012.

    Interview

There was one phone round first which was all case based. I was asked questions such as calculate toll Illinois collects in one day. How much milk is sold in America everyday? After clearing this round there was a face to face round which was very general behavior questions. The third round was again face to face and very technical, all case based. I think they just wanted to intimidate me and make me feel uncomfortable. They gave me a white board and asked me to do all kind of calculations there.
