    Internship Interview

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (New York, NY) in February 2017.

    Interview

I applied online and was contacted about three weeks later to do a digital interview. There were nine written questions that I had to type an answer to. Next, there were three questions that I had to respond to via webcam. The question pops up on the screen and you have 30 seconds to think and up to two minutes to answer. This is a one-sided interview.

I was invited to complete a short video interview. The process consisted of using a webcam to answer six questions, a minute given to answer each one. Luckily the website the interview is conducted on gives you a practice question which you can watch and listen to. Initially I started on my laptop, but because my laptop is almost 7 or so years old, the sound and visual quality was terrible. So I decided to switch to my smart phone where I had to download the app which was quick and easy.

They give you 30 seconds to read the question on the screen and prepare your answer. There's a timer in the corner which counts you down and let's you know when the recording starts. So you're not talking to another person or anything. Just you looking at yourself on camera and trying to squeeze everything you want to say in a minute. It certainly was a challenge for some of the questions. I hope I did well enough to receive an in-person interview soon because I would be really excited to have that opportunity.

Parks & Resorts Summer 2017 Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at NBCUniversal in February 2017.

    Interview

I applied online via the NBCUniversal Careers website at the very end of December and received an e-mail at the end of February inviting me to conduct a video interview. I have not yet received a response (been almost three weeks after the video interview), but so far overall the application process has been okay. Though the suspense of hearing back isn't fun, it is understandable for a company the size of NBCUniversal to take longer to follow up. I will update this post upon further correspondence with the company.
Best advice for the video interview (which is one-sided, so you are given a question and must then video record your answer) is to PRACTICE multiple times. It is uncomfortable speaking to a screen, but if you practice enough times you will get used to it and by the time you are recording your actual answers it will look much more natural. This will enable you to better focus on the quality and merit of your answers. Good luck!

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NBCUniversal in February 2017.

    Interview

I applied online. Two days later, I got an email to do a video interview. The video interview gave you one minute to read the question and two minutes to record your answer. The questions were basic interview questions, like "Tell about a time you had conflict at work." The same day I completed the video interview, I got an email to do a phone interview. The phone interview questions were a little more difficult. Two weeks after the phone interview, I got an email saying I did not get the job.

I applied online. The process took 4+ months. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (Studio City, CA) in February 2017.

    Interview

I applied online in December 2016 and didn't receive an email until late February inquiring to submit a video interview within 48 hours or receiving the email. After submitting I received an email stating that they will contact me 3 weeks after the interview and I did not receive a response. Don't expect a response since they have thousands of applicants trying for the same position.

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (New York, NY) in January 2017.

    Interview

I interviewed with 3 different people in addition to the recruiter. I made the 3rd round and found out later I was a finalist against 1 other candidate. They never told me I didn't get the position, I had to write them a gentle email "thanking" them for chance to interview. Strung along for 2 months then not told until I found out from the other candidate...waited 2weeks then emailed them to say "thanks".

    Interview

Like everyone else says, the interview process was a heartbreaking one. I applied on a pipe dream, thinking there was no way I'd get through. But I ended up making it to the final round, flew to New York, waited around for two weeks and then ended up not getting it.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (Universal City, CA).

    Interview

Online app, video interview with 4 questions and a minute per answer. Few weeks later was called in to interview with supervisors. I had applied for every position relating to marketing and got called in to interview for the department I was least interested in. Interview in person was one of the tougher ones I've experienced.
