    Intern Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Universal City, CA
    Declined Offer
    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (Universal City, CA).

    Interview

Online app, video interview with 4 questions and a minute per answer. Few weeks later was called in to interview with supervisors. I had applied for every position relating to marketing and got called in to interview for the department I was least interested in. Interview in person was one of the tougher ones I've experienced.

    Interview Questions

    Reasons for Declining

Office in Universal City is very far from my school, hours are 9-6, very corporate atmosphere

    Inventory Analyst Interview

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (New York, NY).

    Interview

Spoke on the phone with an HR representative. Then came to the office for 3 in-person interviews - 2 with directors on the sales planning/inventory team and 1 with an ad sales HR director. Was a pretty slow process (took a few months) but everyone was very nice. Since I was a recent college grad the questions were mostly behavioral. Many of the people who interviewed me spent a lot of the interview explaining the digital advertising landscape and then asking me if that was something I thought I would be interested in.

    Analyst Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate

    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at NBCUniversal in December 2016.

    Interview

Had to do a video recording interview, a phone screen, and in person interview then another phone interview. The video recording was a little awkward, gave you 30 seconds to prepare and 1 minute to answer. I think there was 5 questions. They asked about previous experience, what you hope to gain from the position, and about excel skill. During the in person interview, my interviewer was really nice and easy to talk to. We went over my resume and she asked about a time I had to complete something I didn't know how to do.

    Assistant Manager Interview

Anonymous Employee in Universal City, CA

    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (Universal City, CA) in December 2016.

    Interview

First was a short phone screening then coming in for a 3 person panel interview, mostly stock interview questions of the "Describe a time when..." sort. The department's supervisor, though, did ask better questions. Overall, it was a pretty conversational interview. The final interview was with the vice president of the department. We talked about the position and movement through the company. It was a very fun interview, again, very conversational.

    Intern Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (Los Angeles, CA) in December 2016.

    Interview

I applied online. When I got to the department the hiring manager straight up told me that this is entertainment and the best way (and usually only way) to get a job is if you know someone. Well, this speaks a lot about the industry and also NBC as a whole. He told me that pretty much everyone at the company either started as an intern or got a job through a referral.

    Associate Digital Producer Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate

    Neutral Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at NBCUniversal in November 2016.

    Interview

Process took 8 weeks. Initially applied and got a screening interview. Then brought in to meet with hiring managers the next week. Received a homework assignment to complete in a week and then was invited to another series of interviews with more internal members. HR asked for 5 references to submit via Checkster (think SAT or GRE type of essay questions they have to fill out). Two weeks later, I was told they went with someone internally.
