I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at National Grid USA (New York, NY) in December 2015.

    Interview

Phone interview as I was in my finals week at college. About 30 minute interviews, maybe a little less due to the schedule for the interviewers being very tight. Asked pretty basic questions that were very relevant.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ months. I interviewed at National Grid USA (Waltham, MA) in February 2015.

    Interview

Submitted my resume in October/November (didn't think anything of it and honestly forgot I even applied). Was contacted by my now boss in January for a 30-60 min interview - just asking to go over my resume and he told me about the position as well. A few days later he e-mailed again asking if I could come in to the office and to prepare a portfolio of past work. They gave me a week to prepare the portfolio and then they took a week to review. The in-person interview was super quick - basically just making sure I could get along with the whole team. They extended an offer the next day and the process was finished early-mid February.

Now that I work here I think I have a better-ish idea of how the interview process works. You essentially blindly throw your resume into a system for any internship. Then managers across all different departments read, review, and decide who they want to interview. From there it's up to the manager to decide how they conduct their interviews but I think for the most part it's all behavioral.

I applied online. I interviewed at National Grid USA (New York, NY) in January 2014.

    Interview

5 People at once, all regrading to leadership. It was a marketing position so they asked me a lot of questions regarding to situations and how I deal with things under pressure. It helps to have a strong background in a few different leadership type roles and maybe a prior internship because they want specific scenarios of how you dealt with things and when it happened.

    Interview Questions

    • Name a time where you had to deal with someone who responded negatively and how did you handle that?   Answer Question

    Interview

The interview was all behavioral. It wasnt difficult at all if you know how to expand on your resume, speak about all of your experiences. Couple of questions asked: Why you chose the university you attend, what do you know about the national grid, why did you choose your major and what are your goals for your career.
