    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ months. I interviewed at Navigant.

    Interview

Do not expect any response to an online application. I've applied to a number of positions here, and the company doesn't have the decency to set up an automated receipt confirmation email.

Eventually, I did have a number of interviews for a position. On that occasion, I submitted an application and received no response for three months. I then got an email from a recruiter for the company to set up a phone interview for 30 minutes. That went well and I eventually had two other interviews with more senior members of the company and with people I would actually be working with. After that, I was asked if I would consider moving to a different location, which I made clear I would not. At that point, I was told that someone would get back to me, and I never heard another word from the company. I'm won't fault them for not offering me a position at that point, but I am a bit turned off by the lack of any response after going through several rounds of interviews.

The interview process I went through was:
    1. Phone screen with recruiter.
    2. Separate phone calls with two different senior staff members on the team with the open position.

The steps that were described for me as being part of the process were:
    3. In person interview with a group of individuals from the team.
    4. Presentation on a topic of candidate's choice.

Steps 3 & 4 would take place on the same day, and would likely result in an employment decision on that day.

The people I spoke with from the company were very polite and intelligent, but the application and recruiting process are nightmarish. Navigant has no regard for applicants, as evidenced by the lack of even an automated reply. For a company that also provides IT consulting, their recruiting webpage is a joke. (Use Internet Explorer 10 for best results!)

Additionally, at last check, Navigant does not accept cover letters.

Part of the reason I think I got an interview was that I have an acquaintance who works at the firm whose name I was able to use as a reference. If you would like to work here, I would strongly suggest you network with some people who already do.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Navigant (Washington, DC).

    Interview

I was contacted by recruiter, she set up a quick phone screen with the hiring manager. She then scheduled an in person interview the following week. I was made an offer the same week and after negotiation, we came to a salary. It was a very quick turn around time from phone screen to offer.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Navigant (New York, NY) in September 2016.

    Interview

Applied both through Navigant website (very tedious application) and through university recruiting - the exact timeline of application was very confusing and conflicting. First-round scheduled for a phone interview much earlier in the application process: talking with a current Senior Consultant in life sciences practice. Conversation was mostly based around resume and past experiences and was friendly. However, I did not hear anything from them in months after the first-round interview. Write to ask recruiting contact, just to find out that my application and interview "fell through the crack" and did not make it to further round - definitely not a professional way to structure recruiting process.

    Interview

Three interviews in one morning by three interviewers who are from different focus but in one big group. All behavioral questions and they were very conversational. Each interviewer had his or her own focus and style so I think if you had thoroughly thought about your past work experience and had enough stories you would come prepared.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Navigant (Chicago, IL) in July 2015.

    Interview

The entire process took less than a month. I spoke to a recruiter and then she set up two phone interviews with and associate director and a director. Both lasted just under 1 hour. About two weeks after, they flew me to the Chicago HQ, where I met with two directors and a managing consultant; each interview lasted about 45 minutes. Mainly fit and "what would you do in this scenario" type questions. There was a fairly big emphasis on quantitative skills and data analytics. Lastly, there was a 45 minute excel proficiency test. This was something I was dreading but it turned out to be relatively straight forward. If you know lookup functions and how to create and build a pivot table, it's pretty painless. I got an offer and accepted a week later.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Navigant (Washington, DC) in June 2015.

    Interview

Phone Screen, Phone Interview, In-Person interviews (5 people) back to back for about 3 hours. Very professional and fit based. They seem very academia oriented as i was asked for specifics of my GPA (major GPA, minor GPA). They also seemed very happy and content with their work life balance and genuinely enjoy what they do. I tried to dictate the flow of the interview and determine if Navigant was a good fit for me too. I also prepared very solid job specific questions and tried to ask questions based on the conversation at each interview.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Navigant.

    Interview

The interview process started with a screening call with HR before scheduling phone interviews withe work group members. AS I advanced in the process I was invited to in-person interviews. The process was very organized, well structured, with clear communication on each step. The questions asked were very relevant and assessed my skill set based on the job requirements. It was a tough process but I feel it ensures only the best advanced in the process

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Navigant (Washington, DC) in October 2014.

    Interview

The process moved rather quickly because the Financial Services practice is growing and desperate for good people. I first spoke with an HR rep to go through my experience and salary expectations. The next week I spoke with a Senior Consultant by phone. That interview was based soley on my work experience at a major bank. About a week and a half later, I was flown to the Washington DC office where I 3 interviews. One with an Associate Director, a Senior Consultant, and a Managing Consultant. The interviews were not difficult. It was more of a conversation regarding my work experience and career goals. There were the general SWOT questions and management style quesionts. Overall great experience. NO CASE!!!!

    Interview Questions

    Negotiation

There was none. They kept emphasizing that the offer was extremely competitve considering I have not worked in consulting before.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Navigant (New York, NY) in October 2014.

    Interview

I first saw the job post on Glassdoor, applied online through their website, and got an email requesting an interview soon thereafter. There was an initial HR screen, followed by another phone screen with the Associate Director of the practice, and finally an in-person interview at the office. There, I met with the Director, two Managing Consultants, and had an "informal" chat with a Consultant. Everyone I spoke to was extremely nice and kept the mood as light as they could; the conversations were almost effortless. I can tell that the people here are not only very smart and professional, but also are not afraid to let their fun personalities shine through.

The interview questions are not hard. They are interested in hearing about your past work experiences and how your skills can be translated into the role. Though the questions are mostly focused on work experiences, they are also assessing your fit into the team and into the company culture.

Additionally, my Human Resources contacts have been the friendliest and most helpful group of people I've ever gotten to work with. From the beginning of the process through securing my offer, they kept communication and next steps extremely clear and were very timely with their responses unlike a majority of other companies' HR departments.
