    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at News Corp Australia (Sydney (Australia)).

    Interview

The interview process what very straightforward. A job was dvertised on seek.com.au and i applied. as simple as that. The, a person from the People and Culture department got in contact with me. After discussing the role over the phone in more detail, i stated my salary expectations and began negociations. Later a meeting was organised between my soon to be manager and me, at the location in surry hills.

i arrived there 10 min earlier, to have a walk around the area and to get a good look at the people coming in and out of the place. After a quick coffee, i was invited into a glass boardroom.

    Interview Questions

    • The manager seemed to be particularly interested in the working hours. having come from an advertising agency background where there are no regular working hours i thought this was odd. soon i realised that this was due to the management's clock watching nature, that makes you feel guilty even when taking a bathroom break.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

You have to know your worth in the market. And go in asking as many questions as you can. i've always pushed for 20k than the expected, and wait for a back offer. if they're willing to negotiate its a good sign, not only about the stability of the company, but how much they want you,

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at News Corp Australia (Surry Hills (Australia)) in January 2015.

    Interview

Applied online, and went to meet hiring manager for first interview. General discussion around work history and the role. Called back for a 2nd interview met with another member of the team again a general discussion. I had positive feedback from both interviews as a preferred candidate but haven't heard anything after 3 months. I obviously wasn't right for the role but after 2 interviews it would have been good to have officially closed it off

    Account Manager Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Melbourne (Australia)
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at News Corp Australia (Melbourne (Australia)) in November 2011.

    Interview

Pretty lengthly process, they expose you to at least a couple of different members of the team. First a screening interview over the phone, followed by two 1:1 interviews face to face. The phone interview was behavioural and very scripted/formal, but the 1:1 interviews were over coffee and pretty relaxed. Finally they asked me to present a mock response to a brief. Overall it was a long, but fairly relaxed process. Sometimes they took a little while to reply which can be stressful!
