Front Desk Agent Interview

Anonymous Employee in Austin, TX
Accepted Offer
Positive Experience
Average Interview

Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Omni Hotels (Austin, TX).

Interview

I've worked at multiple Omni Hotels properties over the years. The interviews have been similar. You usually start with an application and quick interview with Hr. Then if they like you, they have you meet with the managers of the area and the director or a couple of directors (that area you applied for and perhaps HR). Then if they like you, you meet with the GM for the final interview.

Interview Questions

  • Where do you see yourself in five years? Why Omni? Why this position? Tell us about a time you made a difference on a team. Tell us a time you made someone's day better. Tell us about how you've dealt with conflict on a team. Tell us a specific example of dealing with criticism and what you learned from it. How will you contribute to Omni? How do you help someone who's angry?   1 Answer

    Front Desk Agent Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Atlanta, GA
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Omni Hotels (Atlanta, GA) in October 2015.

    Interview

Got the interview through a connection within Omni at a college fair- which enabled me to speak to the recruiters personally beforehand. The fact that we met made the subsequent interview very smooth, then met with an Assistant Manager and lastly with the Director of Rooms. The interview with the recruiter was rather short, we had a very informal conversation and she asked a few questions and went over my resume. One assistant manager met with me the following week to, again, go over the resume and she focused more on behavioral questions. Then the Director of Rooms reached out for a final interview, in which we spoke about my experience, the nature of the hotel's business and operations, and finally about why would they hire me instead of someone else. Overall, I was very well prepared and it could not have gone better. I believe I impressed and got the good news the following week.

    Interview Questions

    Front Desk Agent Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Carlsbad, CA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Omni Hotels (Carlsbad, CA) in August 2015.

    Interview

Was asked to meet in a small trailer building where I waiting for a long period of time after arriving promptly on time for the interview. There were two separate interviews. The first was pleasant and informational. She was personable and had a sense of humor...which I really enjoyed because well...why shouldn't you be an example of what you wish to hire?? But...the second interview was awful..she came in knowing I applied for Front desk but was offering a different position all together...I didn't like that. The lady seemed very snooty, frigid and unapproachable as she yammered on and on. She didn't give me any time to really talk or present who I am and what I would bring to the department if hired. She didn't provide me any new information that the interviewer before her didn't already give me. I tried my best to keep interested in the thought of even being employed next to her and went as far as to ask questions about her own goals as a supervisor/department manager to try and get to know her a bit..asked her what 3 top most important things she wished for me to know...all I herd was blah blah blah. I lost interest in wanting the position that I applied for very quickly into my interview with her. I would personally rather work with people who aren't so dry in humor or personality. It just makes work life so dull. Who wants that???
