Difficult Interview

Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Oracle (Bozeman, MT) in April 2016.

Interview

They were more interested in breaking you down personally than focusing on your qualifications for the job. The people that interviewed me had a set list of questions, some with no relevance to the position or qualifications. And they repeated some of these questions ad nauseam. It was getting frustrating for me. It's like they had their own agenda and weren't listening to what I said.

Interview Questions

  • They kept asking me about the stuff I did in the Navy 28 years ago. It was so NOT relevant to job applying for   Answer Question

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Oracle (Bozeman, MT) in March 2016.

    Interview

Slow. Three interviews. The first was a normal screening interview. Second was full with usual behavioral questions. Third was with a panel of the management team. Interviewers insisted in the fast paced and time-sensitive tasks are. Also, insisted in that flexibility and adaptability were key.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Oracle (Bozeman, MT) in December 2014.

    Interview

The process was fairly lengthy. It took over two months to complete before an offer. After that, another two-plus weeks for the background check. There were three interviews. Each one was different. The final one was with three managers. I have colleagues who were hired for different positions who said it took anywhere between three to six months total.

    Interview Questions

    • All interviews were low-key. The structure seemed to be left to the individual to construct the questions. One question that stood out was: "What book are reading, now?"   1 Answer

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Oracle (Bozeman, MT) in November 2012.

    Interview

I learned of the position though a contact and was considered for an interview quickly. I interviewed with the team for about hour and was presented with several gotcha questions. I knew 2 of 3 interviewer from previous work so it was very comfortable. They spent a lot of time making sure that I was comfortable with the position requirements.

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Oracle (San Jose, San Jose (Costa Rica)) in February 2015.

    Interview

I applied online and after 2 days someone from HR called me. She asked me a couple of questions about my job experience, my salary expectations and then she set up an appointment with the hiring manager. Fives days after that initial interview, I went to Oracle's office at Forum II in Santa Ana. I was interviewed by 2 people, the hiring manager and his lead. They were very nice, we laughed a lot during the interview, they told me I have the exact experience they need, but then I said something they didn't like. They asked which is my greatest weakness and I honestly replied "I'm not very patient, but I'm working really hard to get over it" and they replied "uuhh that's a important quality for this job, the people from sales usually takes more time than expected so you have to be very patient". They did not hire me, so I assume it was because of that. After that, they asked when I was available for start working with them, which was weird because I understood I did not have the required qualities for them, so I told them it would be 1 month. They asked to left my current job that they and wait for them to call me to get me hired. Off course I did not left my job without a firm offer.
They never called me back at least to say "I'm sorry, we wont want you", and I'm writing this after 3 months, so I believe they wont call at all.
***They didn't asked me anything in English, I asked why and they told me "if you work at HP, we assume you have a very good English level".
