I was offered an interview one week after applying to the job. I was scheduled for a 30 minute interview and it lasted one hour. The questions were typical and a group of five nurses interviewed me.
- Why Parkland? Why do you want to work in the ER?

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Parkland Health & Hospital System (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2023
1. Applied for residency program when applications opened. Recruiter reached out from one of the units I applied to and sent a signup for a time slot on one of four dates, we could choose either in person (preferred) or virtual. I chose an in person date and was sent confirmation and directions the next day. 2. Arrived early, there was one other candidate waiting for their interview scheduled right before mine. Manager gave us a tour of the unit together, an overview of the residency program, and a chance to ask questions of some of the staff before the interview. Afterwards I was asked to wait in the lobby while the other candidate interviewed. 3. Panel interview with two unit managers and five other staff members. Each interviewer had a copy of my resume and one of the managers asked me a few specific questions about it . Each member of the panel asked one interview question, then I was given a chance to ask questions. Everyone was very warm and friendly. They told me they had two more interview dates left to go so I should expect to hear something within a few weeks. 4. Two days later, recruiter emailed me with offer. Time frame: Applied 1/6, recruiter reached out 1/31, interviewed 2/22, received offer 2/24.
- Tell me about yourself, why Parkland, and why this unit/specialty?
- What are you looking for in a residency program?
- Tell me about a time you collaborated with others.
- Tell me about a time you made a mistake.

You are presented with case studies, given ~20 minutes to review them, then asked to present your nutrition recommendations. They also asked the typical behavioral questions related to your prior experiences in dietetics.
- What do you know about Parkland?

Effortless, over zoom with the manager. Had on nice top. Lasted 30min to 40. I found out I was accepted 6 days later. The recruiter initially sent my info over. And that's how it started after I submitted online.
- They just asked - start from the beginning of your nursing career. And where you will be in 5yrs.

One interview with 3-4 staff members. Then an offer 1-2 weeks later just depends on how long and how many applicants were in your cycle. Very straight forward, staff members explained culture, and the residency process and what to expect

I applied for multiple residencies and interviewed for multiple. The interviews went well. The staff described in great detail what their department was like and asked if I thought that was what I wanted. I am grateful for all the interviews and I accepted an offer that was made the same day that I interviewed with the manger on that unit.
- Why did you choose Parkland?
