    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Pernix Therapeutics (Los Angeles, CA) in June 2011.

    Interview

The interview took place with a 2 regional sales managers.
The 1st process was an overall intelligence test which would remind someone
of a SAT exam. Math type quick on your feet type of questions, which lasted about 8 min
    and you couldn't finish fully.

overall questioning regarding your sales history is questioned in a format
similar to what an investigation would feel like dates and times.

Not much questioning regarding sales techniqu and or methology.

When the discussion on compensation and base came around the amount was
    35k base, in Los Angeles.

When asked what their top reps made over the 100 k plus amount.
The honestly level and level of communication seemed to crawl out the door.

Pernix looking for 100k sales winners at 50 percent discount.

Glad they didn't offer the job..

    Interview Questions

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Pernix Therapeutics in October 2009.

    Interview

The interview process runs smooth and fast compared to most of the Pharmaceutical Companies. There are 1 or 2 phone interviews and then you make it to the 1:1 with the Regional Manager.
They like the real people, not the full of himself kind of Sales Representative. It doesn't take too long and you can definitely feel if you got it or not before you leave. Usually you get an answer 1 or 2 days later.

    Interview Questions

    • How would you feel having a bag full of different drugs to sell?   1 Answer

    Negotiation

No negotiation. They tell you up front your salary. Just remember not to believe everything when it comes to commission. That depends on the territory, the commission structure, the drugs you sell and yourself.
