Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Pets at Home.

Interview

I applied online. Totally forgot I had applied so must have been a while between applying and receiving an email (which was in my spam inbox). I attended a group interview. There was 12 people getting interviewed and 12 members of staff. The staff each had one of us to mark, we didn't know who was marking who. We was paired up and had to introduce each other needing to give an interesting fact about ourselves. Then we was split into groups of 3 and had to build a bridge with newspaper, a small fish tank had to fit under then had to put as many dog toys on with out it collapsing. After this we picked one item from the shop floor in pairs to sell to everyone else. We all then had to say one animal we would love to own and why. After this we had a quick one on one interview. Questions were asked like why pets at home, how would you get to work, do you have to give notice from current job.
I heard back and went in for a job trial with 5 others and another interview. I cleaned out the guinea pigs and rabbits. Then was asked to go to managers office for interview. Questions where how would I manage a situation with and angry customer, describe my self in 3 words. After this I built 6 cat carriers. Then sorted a full aisle out bringing the stock forward to front of the shelves and making sure everything was in the right place. This took two hours. Manager said I would hear in the next 3 days if I was successful or not. After 5 days I got an email to say I was unsuccesful.

    Interview

Online application, and then forward to a group interview. We were informed about how Pets at Home work and what they're looking for, the staff introduced themselves, and then we had to stand up and speak about ourselves. Then we did a group task where we made a group and had to make an animal starter pack based off the animal we were give, it's a lot of public speaking. After this we had one to one interviews

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Pets at Home (Brighouse, England (UK)).

    Interview

Well over the top for a 16 hour job. An initial assessment for 2 hours on a Sunday evening, then another day a two hour unpaid work trial and ridiculously detailed interview with umpteen questions. I almost thought they were going to ask for a blood donation as well! Not worth the bother.

    Interview Questions

    • There were so many I find it hard to pick just one! Tell me about yourself/your pets/ your whole work experience to date(this was only just the warm up!). At least half an hour with 2 interviewers, and several interruptions . Was told the exact day candidates would be told if successful or not. This was not the case and was kept waiting for several more days than this. Most disorganised. Unless you are prepared to give half a kidney for a 16 hour job don't bother, not worth it!   Answer Question
