      Technical Recruiter Interview

      Aug 7, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Carpinteria, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Procore Technologies (Carpinteria, CA) in Feb 2018

      Interview

I went through multiple phone screens and was led to believe I'd be a great fit for the team, only to be pushed to another recruiter for a different role. They then said I'd also be a great fit for the role, and did not get back to me for weeks. When they finally did get back to me, they had hired internally and did not provide any feedback whatsoever on the entire process.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked about how specific recruiting skills and how to source new candidates.

      Technical Recruiter Interview

      Nov 4, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Carpinteria, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Procore Technologies (Carpinteria, CA) in Oct 2015

      Interview

Was originally reached out to via LinkedIn by one of the leaders of the recruiting team. Had an initial phone conversation with him for about 30 minutes and after the call we worked on getting me set up for a face to face. I live 125 miles away from their office and work full time, so it was not easy finding a way to take off work to get up there. I finally found a day that worked and made the trip. When I got to the interview, I was notified that the person who originally reached out to me no longer worked with the company. I thought that was very odd right off the bat. The interview was 5 hours long, including a roughly 1 hour lunch break. There was a tour, then I met with the head of HR for 30 minutes, the lead recruiter for about 45, the CTO for 30, and 4 members of the development team, two at a time, 30 minutes each. The CTO and the last 2 members of the development team straight up said that they had never interviewed a recruiter before and had no idea how to do so. So they just asked me random questions, mainly just curious to know more about what we do as recruiters....doesn't seem like the best way to decide if a recruiter is good for your company if your employees don't even know how to interview for it. They have an open door policy which I guess applies to interviews too: people walked in and out a couple times during the interview, leaving everyone a little confused and it was awkward at times. I didn't exactly leave with the warm fuzzy feeling you hope to leave a company you're interviewing with, but I was looking forward to (potential) next steps. They told me they'd get back to me Monday with feedback. Come Tuesday, I hadn't heard back so I reached out. I received a response from the lead recruiter and they passed. When I asked her for feedback as to why, with the hopes that I could fix any mistakes for future interviews, she responded with a short "I cannot give feedback, thanks for your time." Okay, cool...so much for the candidate experience! I understand that this is a busy and very fast growing company. But I think they should work a bit harder to make the candidate experience a genuinely good one, not just talk about how it's a good one. Also, was told that I'd be reimbursed for my travel expenses (250 miles + full work day missed). Still have yet to receive anything 3 weeks later.
