Recruiter Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Detroit, MI

Negative Experience
Difficult Interview

Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Quicken Loans (Detroit, MI) in March 2016.

Interview

Unfortunately I knew immediately during this interview that I was not interested in working at QL if the employees are anything like the interviewer. I found him to be pretty amateurish, cocky and sounded like a used car salesman, with his only goal in being to tell me that QL is #1 in this and that. Being that I'm a recruiter myself, I know a thing or two about how to talk to candidates to get them to open up. I felt as if this recruiter put me on the defensive and did not promote a productive dialogue at all.
His tone was pretty negative and I found this to be a turn off.

Interview Questions

  • What do you know about QL?
Why are you looking for a job?
Why do you want this job?
Why aren't you working in a field that you went to school for?
Tell me about the most challenging situation you've encountered at work?
What kind of compensation are you looking for?   Answer Question

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Quicken Loans (Detroit, MI) in February 2015.

    Interview

After I applied online, I was called for a brief phone interview with Tori C. She was personable and informed. A couple days later, Tori scheduled a 2nd phone interview with another recruiter Sarissa. She invited me to come in for a face to face interview and I fell in love with the offices. I shadowed a team member for about 30 minutes before the interview. It's a fun environment! They called me a couple days later to offer the position.
