I applied online, and a recruiter reached out a week or two later. They requested writing samples hours before the call (3 am my time) and then switched from zoom to a phone call minutes before our scheduled time, and were still 5 minutes late. So from the start, it felt a little disorganized. Our call was fine, from the start I was told I was already approved for the next step based on my resume, so our call felt like a really casual formality. I did the second interview a few days later. My interviewer was late again, but did apologize that they had been wrapping up an email before our call. Lots of hypothetical questions and not a ton about my portfolio or background, which is fine. Thought I could have answered a couple questions better, but overall went well. Two problems: when I asked what next steps were, I was told there would be 3-4 more interviews. It's unclear if they meant 3-4 individual or with 3-4 people in a round table setting (I've seen other interviews say that's what they had). But it sounded like a pretty extensive process for a writing position. The second problem, is I never heard another word from them. I sent a follow up two weeks after my interview to see if there was an update, and didn't get a reply. Between both interviewers being late to the call, and no follow up on my progress (good or bad), Remitly's interview process leaves something to be desired.
