Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Reynolds and Reynolds (Kettering, OH) in July 2012.

Interview

The interview process is quite simple: you take some tests and if you do not pass, you are sent home. The test is designed for college students and by using it, they aim to weed out professionals with experience -- because they will have to pay them more. I recommend telling the girl at the desk that you were told you would have an interview. Ask specifically to see a recruiter. If she doesn't let you, request her manager. As long as you get to the interview, the rest of the process is not difficult. I think they like to see that you are persistent. The "won't take no for an answer" is a huge part of the culture at the company. Just because you can't do algebra, doesn't mean you don't deserve an interview -- let them see that determined side of you and they should look past your test scores.

Interview Questions

  • The interviews are exactly the same for every position. The recruiters have a list of scripted questions and you answer them. "What's your biggest strength" "What are your weaknesses?" "How long do you see yourself in this position?" "What are your career goals?" They don't go into specifics in terms of questions. It's easy to ace the interview.   Answer Question

Negotiation

There is no room to negotiate on vacation -- you get none the first calendar year and less than 10 your second year. You get about 4 sick days but you are required to have a doctor's note for them. The salary is pretty non-negotiable. They have set ranges and don't stray from that, which is unfortunate considering they are extremely low compared to other companies.
